Maybe, just maybe, they don't do those types of dunks in an NBA game because they get paid to play, and that type of dunk is "risky" in nature, and they want to spare themselves the tongue lashing they would get from the coach if they screwed up. Again, compared to what I have seen on a high school level and in junior college, the Lebron dunk was really nothing special.
Willoughby could sure dunk coming out of high school. He had a much better vertical than Lebron James does.
Yeah...I guess its more risky a dunk than a 360 windmill dunk which we have seen many times on break aways. Or 2 on 0 bounce pass off the backboard to the trailer dunk? Guess these guys were thinking...."Yeah, I get paid to play better not try this"
I agree with HOOP-T on this one. Was it a impressive dunk by James, yes. But not THAT impressive. Who in the NBA is really doing 360 windmills or off the backboard lobs? The few of those that I've seen have actually been in traffic - McGrady off the backboard to himself, Kobe and Vince with much sicker dunks, Desmond Mason on some monster reboudn dunks. It was a great dunk for a high school kid to do, but that's about it.
