goal tend, easily, it was close in terms of on the way going down, but it was definitely past the mid point and headed downward

First time I saw it on TV, I thought it was an obvious goaltend, but the more I've seen it the less obvious it becomes...

i dunno if that rule applies to other leagues but for NBA, he is definitely correct.
they have different rules for jump shots and layup

u see the "above the basket rim" and "imaginary cylinder" that part? that's what he mean. n this rule applies to layup or tip in.

n for jump shot, as long as it is still on its way up, u can do watever u want, use ur head or use u leg, but then that will be a kickball.... :p

If that was a clean block, so is this... right?

If it is close, it is a block in my book.

My book is a good book I think...

Seeing the video title, I was expecting Michael Finley, not His Airness :p

And I'd give LBJ the benefit of the doubt on the play. It was an incredible show of athleticism, so if it's a 50/50 call, why not reward him?

Ball was already past midway, just started to go downwards.

it was a close call. i'd call it a block if i were the ref.

and that video of yao should've been called a block, too.

if lebron was shooting the refs would call goaltending.

in the Yao vid, Yao got the ball with his arm, almost down, and thats why the refs thought it was a golatending, but its clearly a block.
the Yao block, is more clear than the play by lebron.

GOALTENDING!!!!!!!!!, the refs should have reviewed that given that it was at the end of the game!

I think it was a block, but my question is this. Why the hell did he block it out of court, instead of trying to keep it in play to get possession?

It was close and I'm surprised it wasn't reviewed, but I would call it a block.

Looked like it was barely on the way down to me, based on the last part of the clip.

Both this play and the LeBron play are very similar. If Lebron's counted as a block, Yao got jipped.
