At least he won't screw over Cleveland after two years; <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>LeBron is expecting the salary cap to jump massively in 2016, James aims to re-sign at that time. Fully committed to Cavs long term.</p>— Brian Windhorst (@WindhorstESPN) <a href="https://twitter.com/WindhorstESPN/statuses/488074867393048576">July 12, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
The opt out for next year to provide potential extra flexibility to sign free agents. The 2 years is so he can maximize his money in 2 years with the new cap.
In terms of the TV contract in 2016, is there a chance the NBA on NBC returns? I would absolutely love to hear that jingle again.
LeBron keeps making all the right choices here. That contract gives both him and Cleveland flexibility. There is one thing I can guarantee. You will never see LeBron James on another NBA team for the remainder of his career. It's Cleveland for life, done and done.
I wouldn't put money on him staying after 2 yrs. it's Lebron so it will be more drama summer 2016. He and Durant will be free. Very interesting.
personal opinion...Lebron should keep #6. It has been the most successful number he has to date(ie. Medals, and titles)
