LeBron James: Race a factor in "The Decision" backlash

    How do you know people didn't withhold credit because he was black? There's really no way to tell, and I'd guess that it probably did happen. Negative reaction is a lot more obvious when directed at something that many agree is bad. You're not going to see a lot of obvious negativity towards Durant, even if some exists, because the nature of his actions don't warrant it.

    But again, you're arguing against the notion that race was the sole factor. But nobody is saying race was the sole factor. People generally agree with you that most of the negativity was based on the fact that it was a douche move.

    The question is whether even a little bit of the negativity was based on or exaggerated because of race. All LeBron said was that it was a factor. So if you disagree and think it wasn't a factor at all, you have to explain why you think nobody was extra negative about it because of race.

    I hope that distinction makes sense.
