Why? This isn't tennis. Why should an individual player be punished for poor management when it comes to all-time greatness? It's not his fault the Cavs couldn't pair him with a better player than Mo Williams. This "team success is the most important thing when evaluating individual greatness" is the dumbest rhetoric in sports. It's very American and it's also a very recent trend. Best players are not always winners and winners are not always best players, they correlate obviously but on an individual basis it's meaningless to qualify player's greatness with championships.
I'd still put a couple above Lebron (mj, wilt, kobe, etc.) but he'll probably end up either 1 or 2 when his careers finished.
wouldve been a travesty if it were anyone else....it is scary to see him dominate this game in so many facets...
It's hard to put him as a top player ever when he got punked in the finals by Jason Terry. He's easily the best player in the world right now, but I will wait until he retires to rank him all time.
Why does he need to win more championship to be considered better than some players? You're either better than them or your not, winning more rings doesn't all the sudden make you a better player lol although it does validate your skills
People can hate him for his antics .. Think Dwight has been worse, but he is one f the greatest already and still not done.
I have him as 3rd best of all time on my list, assuming some more career longevity. Career longevity plus multiple more championships and MVPs, then he can be #1. of course, I might be in the minority in that I think Kareem is the best player of all time, though only just barely, and only then because of the one skill he brought to the table that MJ just couldn't - interior paint defense. MJ was an amazing defender, but I'll take an amazing interior defender over an amazing defender at any other position.
LeBron carried one of the ****tiest teams on Earth to the NBA finals. He is a top two player of all time.
He carried THE ****tiest team to the NBA finals, not one of. There isn't even an argument here. And he was just a kid when he did so. He's a beast now, so much of a beast that it's not even fair, really.
In terms of pure talent, sure. In terms of accomplishments, not chance in hell he's already at #2. Having said that...I firmly believe he'll get there if he keeps up this pace, but no way is he already there.
If you are talking about all-around impact. I think LeBron surpasses Jordan. Jordan is a better scorer, but LeBron is better at almost everything else. It doesn't help that Jordan has been built up to god status just from word of mouth alone.
This is probably the biggest thing Lebron has to overcome. Also his performance in the Finals vs. the Mavericks is something that people will always hold against him, probably to the point where it's unnecessary.
Harden finishes 8th in MVP balloting... Blake Griffin isn't even in the 16 players receiving votes. *clippy faints*
