I think Jason Kidd has a much better chance. He already has the points and assists covered, and he's over 8 rebounds a game as well.
Lebron might average 10 rebs per game one day, but he'll never average 10 assists per game. Not for the ENTIRE SEASON. You guys seem to forget how long a 82 game season is. There is no way he'll get 30-10-10.
Boozer leaving for Utah stripped fans of what could have been a great Cleveland team. imagine if James still had Boozer as a running mate. that would have been a great tandem.
I can. he could have let Tmac have the A/S mvp in front of Tmac's own crowd a few years ago. Esp since Tmac had a lot going on personally at the time and was just getting over it. I became a Kobe fan (because he stated that he was gonna get Tmac the mvp and almost did) and a Lebron hater all in one game. Totally opposite before the game. and I am a Tmac fan before anyone else. (I have Lebron on my fantasy team however. and he's kicking ass )
uh dude, it was just an All-star game. it's not that important. no one cares about it....well, except you. if players actually took the game more seriously, the mvp would be earned. there's no honor in just giving it to someone.
No triple double tonight. But LBJ gets 38/4/13 tonight as he hands the Celtics their second loss of the season. The starters actually played hard tonight, a well rounded effort. Unfortunately we're as deep as a kiddie pool - the starters averaged about 45 min a piece (granted there was one overtime).
A lot of people strongly dislike(maybe hate is too strong a word) LeBron. Just take a look at all of the other basketball forums where people aren't as level-headed as the ClutchFans. Reasons include: perceived arrogance, idea that he is a Nike-robot(see Stephon Marbury vs. LeBron shoe incident), fact that he was "overhyped," overexposure, that he is shown too much on ESPN highlights, that he only cares about money(see "global icon" controversy), that he is a wuss for not signing Ira Newble's Darfur petition, etc. A lot of people don't like Kobe for many of the same reasons.
LeBron had 38 points, 13 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in a win against Boston today, while holding Paul Pierce to 16 points on 5-15 shooting. Come on, LeBron. Only 4 rebounds?
There are two things that pop out in my mind that make his play thus far so extraordinary: 1. Dude played in the NBA finals and then in the Olympics. He has basically had no offseason. I thought he would come out pretty sluggish early this year because of that. I guess I underestimated the energy and fresh legs of a 22-year old. 2. He has really picked up his D this year. He is playing great D on other team's star scorers. His blocks have increased out of nowhere (average more than Garnett right now) and he is playing the passing lanes as good as he ever has. You might remember that Lebron was always good at playing the passing lanes, but in past years it often came at the expense of his 1-on-1 defense...not the case this year. He could definitely average a triple-double if he liked to hit the boards harder. I'm not sure if he'll ever average one because of that, but he could definitely average double digits in assists if he had some quality teammates. A big man who can quickly finish around the rim would get 5 assists a game easy from LeBron penetration. Give him that and a consistent outside shooter and he'll be around double digits in assists every game on just those two players alone.
It's obvious he'll get over 10 PPG, so he has the scoring covered, but for APG and RPG to be over 10, that just seems too far out of of reach for any player by today's game. LeBron needs 820 Rebounds and 820 Assists to meet this goal, and he is currently at 120 Rebounds and 127 Assists after 15 games. He would need to total 700 more rebounds and 693 more Assists in the remaining 67 games. That's just a staggering amount of consistency and effort needed to do that, and I just can't see it happening. I'm not even sure he'll keep at his current pace. I see LeBron finishing with averages of maybe 32/7/6.
LeBron and Kobe are worlds apart. LeBron has a much more likable personality. And he doesn't try to act like Michael Jordan. I guess a lot of people don't want LeBron to succeed because he got that big fat endorsement contract BEFORE he played a single NBA game. I kind of agree that it was wrong to reward a kid who had proven nothing. But the "hatred" was more toward the system rather than the kid himself.
I think Kobe is still the best player in the world. I don't like neither of the two much, but I respect Kobe's game more than I do Lerbon. Tmac could pretty much stop Lerbon last season, while Kobe was unstoppable unless you double him.
With Kobe, at least the Lakers try to run a team-oriented offense. Kobe will take over when he needs to, but the Lakers don't totally depend on him to score points. In Cleveland, the offense is basically give the ball to LeBron, and he either takes the shot or passes to the open guy. It's really amazing how he's able to carry that team with such a predictable offense.
Yep, and tonight they won because LBJ had help: Drew Gooden's jumper was unconscious. Against the better teams, the Cavs need at least one other player to step up. All too often LBJ is the only Cavs player other teams need to defend. Mike Brown's offense is still stone age.
Totally separate reasons: I was really turned off by LBJ when he said the wanted to be the first billionaire athlete. That says a lot about someone's character. I also dislike the hype that surrounds him. I dislike Kobe b/c of his off-court antics--especially this years "no trade" vetos he keeps pulling.
