True, he's arrogant... but at the same time, from what I've read, he's had to become that way (and watch his own back) since everyone is after him so that they can make money. Hell, if my principal was planning to sell the broken rim mentioned above on eBay, I'd think I was the sh.. too. Yes, PPV high school games featuring this guy are ridiculous...
Does anybody know how much people are selling tickets for Lebron's games? I bet you it's a helluva lot more than the 7 bucks for the PPV. I'd pay for one just to see if he is as good as everyone says he is... Everyone better live it up while they can, because the Lebron James gravytrain will be pulling into the station in a few months...
Not sure. But if they offered it here, I wouldn't pay. It seems to me that PPV for Lebron are more for the NBA scouts and Las Vegas bookies than for the basketball fan.
I wonder if that high school has PPV for their academic decathalon team. Probably not...I mean why publicize how good your school's academics are when you have a guy who can ball?
This is even worse than that. This is an indictment on the "amateur" status of high school basketball. Personally I would very much like it if the sports media wouldn't even comment on high schoolers. The college recruiters and pro scouts know who is good and who is not. The only thing these media outlets do is put a spotlight on these kids and things like this result. Why don't we just let these kids be kids?
I read somewhere, but I forgot where that they are putting his games on ESPN because they games are always sold out and alot of people want to see him so they broadcast it on PPV so people around that area can see the games.
The same thing could be said about high school football playoff teams. Those games certainly aren't PPV. In Texas I doubt that the UIL would allow a school to PPV the games.
With parents that are that classless, stupid, and greedy I feel sorry for Lebron. Rather than support him, they're looking to turn their son into a cashcow so they can improve their lives. Concern for Lebron is clearly their second priority behind getting rich off of him. We'll have to see if he can adjust to the NBA and focus on basketball and ignore his parents, agents, and friends from derailing his focus with the constant prodding for money.
Call me a fool or whatever you want, but provided this PPV game is national, I'll pay the $7. My team is a team that has a seirously legit shot at landing LeBron, and I want to see what all the hype is over. Should be interesting.
Sorry, it's only in certain counties of Ohio...I bet there will be some video of some Lebron games taken with a video camera floating around pretty soon, though...
Seems to me that all you need now to get into the NBA is a windmill dunk. Forget about all that other stuff...outside shot, Freethrows, defense, rebouning, passing...
