I lost pretty much all respect for LeBron after The Decision. But I still think that those who say he's not the best player are just pure hating. Sure he is not clutch and he is obviously mentally soft. But his talent and skills are just unmatchable. Miami wouldn't even have a clutch moment if not for LeBron. They would have been too far behind at the end of games to need clutch shots. LeBron is kind of like the Steroid version of Kevin Martin. Sure he disappears in the 4th. But you wouldn't even have a close game if he didn't make all those shots in the first 3 quarters (... not in this season though).
^ Look at this twisted logic LOL When teams face the most adversity (usually end of games) and need their star the most, thats when he's so unreliable...so how can anyone call this guy the best player when you can't even rely on him at the point when the team needs him the most to contribute?
Shaq couldn't make free throws in the clutch and he was still the biggest reason the Lakers won those championships.
Fair enough but as I posted in the other thread, Lebron wasn't grabbing rebounds or playing defense in the clutch either. ANY contribution would've been respectable he completely shuts down and unreliable player on both ends when the going gets tough late in games
There is a reason why only a handful of players excel in crunch time. Fatigue is a huge factor; combined with 110% effort from the opposing team.
I would gladly turn down his services. I'd rather not have to cheer for the Houston Lebron's because that's what team would basically be known as if we got him. Regardless if the team wins or loses the story will be about Bron Bron.
he shut down derrick rose down the stretch and hit clutch jumper after jumper on the other end against chicago last year. lebron has had his clutch performances. without looking at the stats, i feel that lebron is on the same level as dirk in terms of being clutch.
I would bet that Shaq's FT percentage in the clutch was better than his normal percentage. His problem was just concentration. He was never afraid of taking it up strong and getting fouled like Lebron is. I don't think a guy can be called the best when he willingly checks out like LBJ.
