he LeBron James Family Foundation and the University of Akron could be putting as many as 2,300 Akron kids through college in a new partnership announced Thursday.

James and UA President Scott Scarborough revealed the next evolution in the foundation’s I PROMISE program at the organization’s annual “family reunion” — this year a Cedar Point excursion for nearly 5,000 students and family members.

    University of Akron. Lol.

He couldn't partner up with Ohio State. Cmon. You're a future billionaire.

That would essentially wipe him out. Tuition for Ohio State is like $15k a year when it's all said and done.

Ohio State on the bonds program "pay now and the tuition holds", would come out to
    $34,500,000 for 2300 kids.

It's a partnership with University of Akron... I'd guess it's more or less a branding deal, they use his name and image to promote themselves, but cover the costs and run the scholarship program.

Dip**** of the year award goes tooo... Scolalist, votes were unanimous.

Seriously, LeBron announces scholarship for 2300 children and you find something negative to say?

How about you donate some money to homeless people and 3rd world citizens. If all the people that said that **** you do would actually do something positive with their money, it would add to a lot more than what one celebrity can give.

Only person I know who has come close to that in the NBA community is Calvin. Good on you Lebron. You have earned a lot of respect for me with this move.

He will be about to pay that much tax in the next 2-3 years, so why not donate it to charity and get a tax cut?
