Ring or it doesn't matter. Bosh is showing right now that he is very deserving of being one of the big 3 just like he did in the finals last year. There is no excuse if he doesn't win it all this year.

Amazing Sam. Lebron and Mcgrady are both historic playoff performers. Lebron absolutely torched the bulls and celtics last year in jordan type fashion. Also, Lebron is the same age RIGHT NOW as Jordan was when he won his first. The haters really have no ground to stand on here.

If LeBron is able to win a championship this year with a hobbled Wade, I suspect it would put to rest the (silly) grumblings of the supposed illegitimacy of a championship for the "big three".

And if you do a further analysis of differential between regular season and playoff...Hakeem will be your daddy. Just look at ppg differential between regular season and playoffs. Hakeem jumps something like 5 ppg.

and also note: comparing 20-something old players to people who completed their career never works. There is always a drop off at the end of careers. So we are comparing prime stats to full career stats.

As MadMax how this works with baseball.

if i ever stop being lazy, i'm going to make that thread at some point. hakeem does indeed look like a beast. very few people raise their PER or WS/48 or TS% in the playoffs. hakeem does so by a fairly significant margin.

lebron might have a little bigger fall off than average (although i don't know the exact average right now) but i think it's well within the range most people drop off in efficiency in the playoffs. which is to be expected, on average you are playing something like a #7 or #8 overall team in the playoffs versus a #15 or #16 overall team in the regular season.

if i remember correctly, the cliff's notes version i think is hakeem raises his game a lot, duncan raises his slightly, jordan is about the same, magic falls off a little, lebron, kobe and bird fall off around the average, and malone and stockton and drob fall off a lot. can't remember how shaq and barkley did.

I remember as a gawky tween in the late 80's/early 90's reading about this even in the antiquated days when people thought winshare was some new application to replace lotus notes.

The sporting news had an article about how he was one of the few players who, in the playoffs, was able to not only increase his scoring etc but raise his %'s as well. Or, basically he consistenty increased usage and efficiency, even before his 93-96 zenith.

How about he choked so hard in the playoffs last year?
or how about he quit on his team because his slutty mum got sandwiched by his teammates?

    Try a better excuse.

Even if the Heat win the championship this year with Lebron being the dominant force, all Wade would have to do is maybe have 1 gamewinner or a couple of games where he takes over and people will discredit everything Lebron had done up to that point.

AKA don't join up with another top 3 player, or people will discredit you...

Just at least repeat as the undisputed #1 in your team, then your rep will start to get better

Until then, just keep playing and pray you don't choke

But he didn't choke hard the whole playoffs.

He destroyed two amazing defensive teams in the 4th quarter and completely shut down the leagues MVP (Derrick Rose shot SIX PERCENT WHILE GUARDED BY LEBRON (MOSTLY IN THE 4TH QUARTER)).

Yeah he had a **** finals, but he had an amazing and very clutch playoffs up to then.
