The amount of hype he is getting so far has been ridiculous. He may end up living up to it, but he is nowhere close at this point. The media should get off his nutsack and just let him grow into the player people think he may be one day. Then hype him up like Jordan.
he didnt do bad at all tonight. i wonder if one day you will see a final between houston and clevland. ~scary. and if they end up loosing a lot of games this year and end up with another nice player.
LeBron definitely is the real deal. I truly hope this kid exceeds all expectations (which will be damn near impossible given the burden placed on him), but after watching him Wed. there's no doubt he'll be fine. Just to think he's five years younger than Yao! When he's about 22-23-yrs-old I could easily see him being one of the TOP 15 players in the NBA. And after hearing him speak when the game was over you have to be even more impressed by his composure and humbleness; seems to be a well-spoken, impressionable young man. The ski is truly the limit for him. I know people want to say 'Melo will be a great rival for him years from now, and some people on this forum have said Yao, but James will be a Jordan-type figure who has no rivals. He can be that good. He just has to stay focused, which I suspect he will. But glad to see the kid start his NBA career off on a GREAT note (quite comparable to other all-time great player's debuts; easily the best H. S. debut performance), so when he does struggle the talk off him being a bust and not being able to live up to the hype can basically be put to rest.
