I can't speak for Conley, but definitely no on Lowry. His effort has been too inconsistent, and it says a lot that McHale routinely has Dragic or Lee guard the other team's top PGs instead of him.

Luol Deng will also get some 1st-team looks.

Iggy, Allen, Deng, LeBron, Dwight would be a very respectable 5.

I guess I haven't seen him lately, but what I had seen he was pretty good. The grizzlies are imo a top 5 defensive team when it counts.

I don't know if you've seen any dante cunningham, but he is like a cross between gerald wallace, shane battier and tony allen. He is a lock down defender, and while Gasol won't get a first or second team (noah and dwight) he is as good as those guys in the paint.

    The grizzlies are scary defensively.

SPeaking of which do you think Pippen is better? From your own opinion. A couple of months ago, people were getting on my case about me saying that Lebron was in Pippen's league defensively. "Stupid girl." "You know nothing about basketball." "You must have started watching basketball, yesterday."

Honestly, I think Pippen is one of the greatest defensive wings ever, yet I do not think I've ever seen him impose his will defensively against power forwards and center. The way Lebron limited Gasol, today is what he would do over a series.

Cunningham sounds impressive. I'll keep an eye out for him next time I catch the Grizzlies on TV.

Honestly I think that Shane Battier is in Pippen's league. But yeah, I agree that Lebron is on that level as well.

I remember I watched a game where he blocked Dwight face to face. Lebron can do everything out there. The Chosen One. Damn.

As long as Kobe is still in the league, his past reputation alone will win him a seat in the 1st defensive team!

I'd still give it to Josh Smith, he is often overlooked because he plays for the Hawks. He even got snubbed once again this year in favor of Joe Johnson for the ASG.

He is a beast all around.

honestly i think you're insane for this statement. pippen could guard four positions himself, he was a lot stronger than people realize. his arm length gave him the ability to guard guys up to four inches taller.

"if we stay strong, we can get paper longer than pippen's arms"

Lebron is being traded for the DPOY? Does Dwight want to play in Miami?

Lebron is by far the most over rated defender in the league. Does he have the ability to be the DPOY? of course he does. Does he ever give consistent effort on the defensive end? hell no.

Lebron is known on the defensive end for gambling in the passing lanes, and for his chase down blocks. DPOY is not about how many positions you can guard, it is how good u play D game in and game out. Throughout the entire season. yes versatility is nice, but its not everything. Heck, Wade is a much better on ball defender, and weakside blocker than Lebron is.

Defense off the ball is just as important as on ball defense. Hustle, defensive awareness, positioning, and rotations are what take a good defensive player and make them a great defensive player.

The problem is that the voting for DPOY and all defensive teams are biased on the team u play for, highlight defensive plays, and your offensive numbers. if it wasnt, 1st team all defense over the last handful of years wouldve included such names as G Wallace, Hayes, Battier, T Allen, Rondo, Luc Richard Mbah a Mounte, Iggy, Varajeou, Josh Smith, Afflalo, and Batum.

No need to put me on suicide watch. I already know he's getting a ring. I knew when he formed his own Dream Team that rings were inevitable. It's like when all the best players team up in P.E. to beat up on the little guys. Or like the first Dream Team. Or like Yates winning district.

Yes! he should also win the sixth man award , the most improved player award, the citizen award and the sportsmanship award because nobody carries himself mightier than him.
