I would tend to agree, but not in this case. I compare it to me (an athletic adult) scoring 50 points in a pickup elementary school game.

James is just so much better than the rest of the high school kids that it is ridiculous. People say he could start in the NBA right now. Many of the kids he plays against won't even get college scholarships, let alone play any organized ball again after graduation.

I did say ALMOST any level. You scoring 50 in a pickup elementary game would definitely not be impressive. ;)

Actually, it was Lisa Leslie who got 101 in a half. Since the other team gave up, Miller's record of 105 in a game held up. I just happened to remember this since I was in California when it happened. I remember reading it in the paper and trying to comprehend how scoring 101 in a half was physically possible...

Oh, and I agree with Rezdawg that 50 points off of 25 shots is pretty damn efficient. Hitting the 11 three pointers shows that LeBron was clearly in the zone -- not making 3 foot hook shots against guys 10 inches shorter than him.

The hummer is a little ridiculous, though.

Was that Lisa Leslie who scored 101? Or both?

There is so much hype and media on LeBron James, that once he doesn't impress the league when he comes in, everyone will assume he is a bust. LeBron is recieving all the attention and it is going to his head.

I for one did have strong issues about showing a high school game on pay-per-view. The same feelings I've had about the whole LeBron situation. I agree with those saying 'LeBron should be able to cash in on his talent, considering everyeone else is,' but ultimately, I think it's just sad, sad, sad. An ugly side of capitalism. But I wouldn't pass any law prohibiting "gifts." Or at least I'd require some form of formality like such gifts officially being made to parents of a minor.

IMO Lebron will be a good NBA player but nothing like all the media is hyping him up to be. He has been compared to Kobe, T-Money, MJ, Magic, and Vince Carter. I like Stoudemire much better than I do James and I think Stoudemire will be the better NBA player when its all said and done.
