Most fans root against one team. If you asked most fans to name a team they will always cheer against you would almost always get a response naming a team.
People are going to keep using "the rings" argument, which is greatly flawed to avoid admitting that Lebron is the greatest all around player the game has ever seen. It's sad but it will always be that way. And Kobe will forever be vastly overrated.
LeBron plays in leasten conference. Had he played in west, Cavs would be No.6 seed playing No.3 seed Spurs in the first round in 07. A finals run would have been first round sweep. Enough said.
Magic was great. For his career he averaged 20/11/7 So far LeBron has averaged 28/7/7 Not too bad, Many people could make a case for LeBron, numbers wise.
Lebron is amazing but how can someone say he's the best when he's not likely to be the guy on his own team to make the play when the game is on the line? Hakeem, MJ, Kobe, Durant even guys like Paul Pierce demand the ball when the game is on the line.
So, who made all the big plays for Lebron when the games were on the line in Cleveland. Did you just start watching the NBA last year? Did you watch the bulls and celtics playoff series last year? Wade isn't taking the majority of the big shots, Lebron is.
Magic had the rebounding, assists, and scoring pretty much the same as Lebron. However Lebron has the speed and athleticism that Magic did not have. Lebron is also a better defender. Magic has him beat of course on leadership, so it's hard to say who was the more complete player. From a physical, athletic, speed standpoint. Nobody touches Lebronbon in the history of the NBA.
You have no idea what would have happened. Cavs actually had a higher winning percentage against Western Conference teams than Eastern that season.
Magic Johnson's numbers aren't as good as LeBron's even though he played in a much-faster paced era. Once you adjust for pace, it's not even close. Statistsically, the only guys who have done what LeBron has done the last few years are Wilt and MJ. That's a simple fact.
In a lot of ways, I'm glad Bosh got injured. I think that if LeBron wins a ring this year, it will put him so much higher and this debate will start to fizzle a bit. For the people that will say, "but he had to do it with Wade," they can have that argument because literally every one mentioned above with exception to Hakeem in his first championship had someone comparable or better than Wade. Kobe: Shaq then Pau Magic: Almost the whole Lakers squad haha Jordan: Pippen, and Rodman. The sad thing is that I think 4 out of Kobe's 5 rings, he was second best player on that team. IMHO.
Not that I think Rodman is better than Wade. But, you put Rodman on Lebron's team and that is one of the sickest defensive teams. Might also give Lebron confidence to shoot a bit more knowing Rodman will scoop up 12 + rbs a game.
Not really. His triple double season was amazing no doubt, but you've got to remember teams back then had about 20-30% more possessions per game due to pace.
