Eh, I don't wanna read through all these pages to see if someone has said this already, but I'll say it anyway. They have similar numbers, yes, but the Cavaliers are a bad team. It's not hard to get great numbers on a crappy team. Prime example: Ron Mercer. He put up very solid numbers with the Bulls, and look at him now. There's no way he just "got worse" all of a sudden. Steve, on the other hand, was the focal point of the Rocket's offense for the last 4 years. Now, he has to give up some of his game for the betterment of his teammates. While Steve's numbers have gone down, Yao's have gone up. Were Steve to keep doing his thing like has for most of his career, you'd b**** about his selfishness and Yao not getting enough touches. In essence, Lebron is free to do as he pleases, while Steve has to let his teammates put up some numbers or be lambasted as a ball hog.
Oh yeah, that's not to say Lebron isn't a good player, he is damned good. But it's unfair to try and compare him to Stevie.
Who would want LeBron....he shot 2-23 tonight for 4 points. He must be traded!! (Typical response on this board after steve has a bad game.)
LeBron already better than Stevie....uh...no.. future maybe, but right now......no way. Easy question. easy answer.
I didn't feel like looking through all of this, but did anybody notice how similar their rookie stats are?
While I don't see much point in comparing Steve to Lebron the fact that two sub-20 year old kids (Lebron and Carmello as well) can come in and have a better grasp of where their teamates are spaced on the floor and if their teamates are in good spots on the floor to make plays is kind of distressing. While both guys make rookie mistakes and produce a lot of TO like SF does--you can see they have floor sense and grasp of the 5 on 5 game SF just doesn't have after 5 years in the NBA.
LJ looks better as the season go on: 19.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 6.2 apg, 1.71 A/TO, .425 FG%, .321 3FG%, 17.0 shots/g SF looks worst as the season go on: 17.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.2 apg, 1.48 A/TO, .392 FG%, .289 3FG%, 15.5 shots/g SF rookie stats: 18.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 6.6 apg, 1.66 A/TO, .445 FG%, .345 3FG%, 14.5 shots/g SF career stats: 19.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 6.3 apg, 1.71 A/TO, .434 FG%, .353 3FG%, 15.8 shots/g
For all you people who think Steve is better than Lebron, Would you trade Steve for LeBron if the trade were on the table? That's what I thought.
just ask yourself this, labron for steve francis ... what would you do? it's obvious, you make that trade if you're houston and say hell no if you're clevend, so who is the better player?
