No, they did not. It was mainly Charles Barkley who bashed him. Most of the media said that Yao was a question mark. They didn't know what to expect. But, you have to admit that Blinebury was right. The Rockets are going to finish 9th place in the West.
I thought he was talking about the media in general...nowhere did I see local media mentioned. And Fran was right about, what? The Rockets being bad on the road? It's not very hard to look at a team's road record. You act like he came up with something that noone else knew. Montel, Charles Barkley was the only one who thought taking Yao was a mistake? Ha! That's rich. Where have you been the last six months? Yes, your right that most of the media didn't knowing anything about Yao, but that didn't stop them from thinking he was going to be a bust.
If you look at the earlier responses in this thread, many people blasted Fran for being wrong. They claimed that the Rockets would perform strong on the road, and make the playoffs. They were wrong. Unless they turn around their road performance, the Rockets will finish 9th in the West.
I have been saying that all season long. The Rocks play a LOT better at home, and stink on the road. They can NOT lose to Clevland tonight...they need to get a better road record to even think playoffs. The Lakers are RIGHT behind us now. DD
I guess the only thing that we can hope for is that the Lakers move up to the 7th or 6th seed, and then we have to battle back to over take either Utah or Minnesota.
