Count me in as another microfiber supporter. I have a sectional and I love it. It can get sweaty like a leather couch though, especially if you sleep on it.

Does microfiber include microsuede? I was seriously debating this as the savings between it and leather is pretty substantial, at least where I would get my furniture from.

Yes. My living room furniture is microsuede. Awesome stuff.

When you come home from a long day of work, microsuede is there for you. It picks you up; it caresses you in it's sweet microfiber arms. It tells you that everything is going to be okay. And when the lights go down, it comforts you in a way that no other furniture can. That's why it's awesome.

I like the smell & feel of leather. As long as you have A/C, it shouldn't be a problem. It's also easy clean-up. Fabric is nearly impossible to clean.

I have a leather couch and every time I have attempted to make love on it, I have been forced to move to the bedroom area. the leather makes things too hot and sticky for fomfortability.

See, that's what I'm talking about. Sticky, noisy = not hawt.

Fabric looks better too. Leather couches make you look like you think you're a pimp, mafioso, coke dealer, or Steven Segal circa 2003. (Not a good Segal year)

As a bachelor, I prefer the fabric couches because of the sweaty sex factor. I've also crashed a million times on friends' leather couches and they do, indeed, stick to your skin when you're trying to sleep. Disgusting feeling.

Leather couches are definitely easier to clean, that's for sure. I have a buddy, though, who just had to replace his leather couch after his (tiny) dog ate the damn thing. Leather couches also have an unpleasant guido connotation I'd rather not associate with. "Scarface" is not the interior design motif I'm going for.

I've decided on microfiber which has both benefits of leather and fabric...

See, I could count on you guys!

    Thanks!

I'm not sure how Steven Segal feels about your decision. I think he voted for leather.

edit: you know, it's not that funny, with nine emotions and six pictures. Idiots.

I just relocated to SF, so I had to buy furniture last week. I bought a sectional similar to this one. It's half tan microfiber, and dark brown leather on the bottom half. Might want to consider this design. It looks really classy with the hardwood floors.

Leather all the way. Looks neat, easy to clean up. If one afford, leather should always be the first choice.

Leather's nice, but it needs to be the soft, good quality kind. Nothing looks tackier in a nice place than low quality leather.

I have a feeling the other three emotions would have had the same look.
