If Alston shot 38+% from 3 point land, I'd be happy. And you probably are incorrect. I could hardly be considered a Mobley (or Francis) defender. I liked Mobley more in his last year with us when he shot a nice 39% from the arc and was sorry to see him go. To address the idea: it's not so much the direct effect of his % (a guy who shoots 8-20 vs. 9-20 is a 40% vs. a 45% shooter, but "only" 2 points), but the effect is much larger when you consider the respect a good shooter vs. a poor shooter. It's the difference between space for Yao to operate or not, for example.
Ok - it must have been DaD... I'm getting old and my memory isn't what it used to be But something is going right for Ming's spacing so far this season - and Alston IS hitting what is (IMO) a reasonable % of 3s! As long as he's not the 'best shooter' on our team, I'll be satisfied with his current production!
