If you really understand more Spanish than you speak, perhaps you should take a class. :D

Dallas has tried teaching me - which is why I understand more than I speak... And I've been meaning to take a class, but I didn't have any more room for electives while I was still at UT... I could take Spanish in summer school over at ACC, but I'm terrified of summer school.

I have a friend who has been teaching me. I'm making cheat sheets - particularly for the slang term stuff. I'm making a long list of things to be able to say to the guy that cuts my grass! :D

Ohh, the Latin women are absolutely beautiful!

My favorite are MidEastern girls (Lebanese, Persians, Moroccans, Israeli, etc.), but Latinas are a close second.

Come to think of it, may be I like them because some of them look Middle Eastern:D

My problem with Middle Eastern chicks is that they usually don't work out. I like a toned woman. I haven't met many middle eastern squaw who like to work out. Maybe I haven't shopped around enough in that arena.

""You Don't have to be Beautiful to Turn Me On", as a country song.

You don't have to be beautiful to turn me on. I've been drinking and I'm taking your big ass home."

ahhh...NO! I think what he meant was that he liked women who work out, and are "toned" in that sense.

I prefer natural beauty, but I don't like fat chicks.

    Big difference!

Dude, I go to UH, and my girlfriend is Persian. And I can assure you she ain't fat, although she is not big on working out:p

"I am so f*ck*ng fed up with you mo' fos".... nice one, Jeff... you even spelled it 95% correctly.

So you're the BLACK dude with A LOT of RHYTHM on Saturday... ! Next time say hello, dude... :D

In what part of town do you live, if you live in Houston?

Dude, and everyone who WANTS TO LEARN IT WELL, if you watch www.telemundo.com TV, turn on your CC and you will see what they say in English. If you watch the MEXICAN soaps on either UNIVISION or TELEMUNDO, you will learn a little, and use some of the words they use. Don't start crying like the men in those soaps, though.

Not for you, Man or any other gringo in here, but this reminds me of: "That's not what he said, you ignorant wretch. Your Spanish is worse than your English." [name my favorite movie from the "Movies you've seen the most" thread]

david_rocket: Mexico will play in the GOLD cup qualifyers at the Reliant Stadium here... in case you're interested in making a trip...

Somehow, you just managed to offend Middle Easterners, women and Native Americans. The trifecta!

That "me tienen hasta la madre" reminded me of this memo passed around... for us MEXICANS, from HR... :
    --------------------------------------------------
    To: All Spanish Employees

Several visitors to our office have brought to our attention that our Spanish-speaking employees commonly use offensive language. Such behavior, in addition to violating firm practices, is highly unprofessional, offensive both to visitors and employees, and will not be tolerated. Therefore, we have decided to implement a series of rules in our office and would expect them to be applied. It is expected that ALL employees immediately adhere to these rules:

    1. Words like coño, carajo and other such expressions will not be used for emphasis, no matter how heated the discussion may get.
    2. Non important matters should not be addressed to as "pendejadas".
    3. You will not say "la cagó" when someone makes a mistake, or "se cagó en su madre" if you see someone being reprimended. All forms and derivatives of the word "cagar" are inappropriate in our environment.
    4. Lack of determination will not be referred to as "falta de cojones" or "mariconerias", nor will a person with lack of initiative be referred to as "pendejo", "mamao" or "mamón".
    5. No Manager or Supervisor, under any circumstances, will be referred to as "hijo de puta", "ese cabron", or "ese maricon".
    6. When a good proposal is presented, the term "esto está de la chingada" must not be used.
    7. Unusual or creative brainstorming meetings will not be referred to as "pedos mentales".
    8. Do not say "cómo jode" if a person is persistent, or "se jodio" if somebody is going through a difficult situation. Furthermore, you must not say "que jodienda", or "esto esta medio chingón", or "me tienen hasta la madre" when matters become complicated in your line of work.
    9. When asking someone to leave you alone, you should not say "vetea la chingada", nor will you substitute "¿que chingados quieres?" for "may I help you?".
    10. When leaving the office, using the term "me voy a la chingada" is not proper.
    11. When any office equipment fails, it must be reported as "it broke down", not "se desmadró", or "se jodió la mierda esta".
    12. Last but not least, after reading this memo, please do not say "que se limpien el culo con esto". Just keep it clean and file properly.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
    --------------------------------------

I am so glad we're coming to cultural understanding.
"Pinche bola de bolillos hijos de su chingada suerte... que se lavan las nalgas...y se toman la'agua..."
And I know that with this, we can let the healing continue...

    :D
