They probably want to sign him in FA, not trading Splitter for Aldridge.

 

Posted this in the random trades thread but TRob, Asik, and Parsons is about a good a package as the Blazers will likely see for LMA. That's a solid center, a top 5 pick with lots of upside to replace him and the best contract in the league whose ceiling is well who knows? If they want to rebuild young around Lillard that would be an ideal package. I would only do this if assured Howard will sign up. You'd have to unload one or two PFs for picks or move Lin but a core of harden, Howard, and LMA would be worth it.

 

Howard isn't leaving L.A. so Morey better be on the phones working a 3 way team trade to land LMA. Flip everyone but Harden if necessary to make it happen. I like all the guys on this team, but this is a move you make _ just like last year with Harden.
