I think Portland would only want Asik and Harden if they were looking to trade LMA to us. It's a pipe dream getting LMA.

Aldrige, whether paired with Asik or Howard, would be great. Although we probably have to give Asik to get him.

    Granger to Cavs makes sense.

In what ways could Portland use Parsons? They have Batum. Most Portland fans think Batum is better than Parsons anyways.

I think y'all overrate Aldridge. He's a great player, but to me, he's slightly above Milsap's level. He's not the top 4 he's often made out to be. I don't think you can win a title with Aldridge as your 2nd best player unless you have Durant or LBJ on your team.

His defense has improved but he's still soft IMO and I'm not a fan of where his points come from. Long jumpers are a great wrinkle to have, but when that's the foundation for your entire offense, it's a turnoff. Morey clearly demonstrates the importance of shots at the rim, from behind the arc, and at the line - and LA is supposed to be a top PF? And at 15mil? Meh...

In comparison, LA shoots 44% of his shots from midrange and y'alls boy Josh Smith shoots 30% of his shots from midrange. What's easier, having Smith stop taking 3's or teaching LA to stop shooting long jumpers? PS: I hate Josh Smith - but it is what it is.

I'd like to have LA, but let's pretend he was our number 2 and we stood pat. We aren't winning a title... he fits perfectly next to Asik but LA isn't moving the needle towards championship contention, not IMO.

The point of all that? I don't think it's that absurd of a notion to hear Portland is shopping him. His value is at it's peak, Portland drafts well, and some snazzy free agents are about to shake loose in 2014.

And neither would Dwight Howard. If we end up signing LMA then I think it'd be after we failed to get Dwight. I have no idea how we'd even come up with cap space through a trade. Considering that Lin isn't that highly valued and Asik after failing to get Dwight, if that's the case, would be untouchable.

Well, if he's overvalued, wouldn't that imply that he has good trade value? It's the overvalued players that has a trade market. Like Rudy Gay and Joe Johnson. I'm sure at least one team is willing to take a chance that Lin can help ticket sales.

They could use another shooter. They'd probably have Matthews off the bench in that scenario. Or Parson off the bench. One way or the other, they'd all get major minutes.

Batum / Parsons can play together by the way. Have Batum guard 2s. They are doing it half the time anyway.

Aldridge had a bad year and he didn't deserve to be an All Star. So it depends on expectations. Do you expect to see this year's Aldridge or 2011-12 Aldridge going forward?

He was definitely one of the top PFs a year ago. Title as the 2nd best player... well, that's hard to say, it depends on the rest of the team. Teams with LeBron and Durant have darn good no.2s, it's hard to match their "top 2" combos. You'd probably have to beat them with depth and/or building the team in a way that exploits their weaknesses.

Re Millsap.. he's pretty good too.

Getting LMA in this draft is a steal for what we are going to offer them, but I don't think the Blazers are going let us steal him unless we give them #1 every year until 2020.

LMA became an all-star player once he started getting into the post. this past season stotts wanted him out on the perimeter, so he went back to his jump-shooting ways. make no mistake, the past 2 seasons before, LMA is one of the better post players in the game (in terms of his back to the basket). also check out his rapm defensively, he definitely makes an impact.

After your trade, Howard would not even consider Houston since Harden is the main reason he wants to come (remember he was emphatic against Houston prior to Harden). Plus, CP3 is statying in LAL. On top of all of that neither CP3 nor D12 are going to take a pay cut, you would have to give them a max or nothing
    Your Line-up would be

    Lillard/Lin
    James Anderson
    CP25
    LA
    Asik

You would likely miss the play-offs and and draft number 14 while Harden would boost Portland back into the play-offs.

    But that's just you =/

What are the Cleveland Cavaliers seeking in exchange for the No. 1 pick? Sources say they reached out to the Portland Trail Blazers in an attempt to land LaMarcus Aldridge for the Nos. 1 and 19 picks. The Blazers quickly rebuffed them.

    http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/60257/flurry-of-trade-talks-surrounding-draft

The Houston Rockets are doing anything and everything they can to move Aaron Brooks or Carlos Delfino in conjunction with the draft before they're forced to just let them go in order to create as much cap space as possible for the long-planned pursuit in free agency of Dwight Howard.

Damn, either this is one of the worst drafts ever or Portland is overrating Aldrige (probably a bit of both).
