I know there's 2 threads... Anyone trying the League Pass Mobile? Looks far cheaper, $40 for the phone app. Maybe they should give it to you for free after you pay for the TV subscription like how they offer the broadband free w/tv subscription. But I'm sure the phone makers want their cut out of it..
A discount for subscribers would be not just nice, but smart. I'd pay something for the app... just not another $40 just like anyone else who didn't pay for regular NBALP.
I just got NBA League Pass and DVR thru Time Warner. I'd like to set my DVR to record the game, but I can't figure out how to figure out which channel to record. Anybody got a second to help? A link with all NBA League Pass scheduling?
what i like that directv is doing is that if they have both feeds for a game (home and away) is that they'll put both feeds on its kind of cool being able to see the same game from two different perspectives
There are issues with the mobile app on the iPhone: the video and audio go out of sync, app crashes sometimes, and after watch a quarter the app will quit to the main menu. The app was just recently released so I'm not surprised with the bugs, however, the video quality on wifi is very clear. You can also watch on 3G and Edge. One thing that might deter people from buying is that the blackout restrictions still apply both nationwide and locally, which is r****ded since people would want to watch their local teams when they are not at home.
Is there a way to figure that out ahead of time so I can set my DVR up? I'm always at work when games start.
You just need to look at that date on your DVR and search the timeslot of the Rockets games and then record that channel. I do it all the time. DD
I still haven't had any success in activating my league pass broadband account. I ordered the TV package a couple weeks ago with Time Warner, and have just been using the free preview for the broadband. It still says that it doesn't recognize my Time Warner Account as a subscriber. Is anyone else having this problem?
Yes, dealing with it right now... exact same situation. The pacifist in my just wants to believe there's trouble with the NBA part, and they are just not communicating well. The conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe that TW is doing it on purpose because they don't want people hogging up the broadband streaming 40 games a week (which I wouldn't, but...) I just got off of the online chat and they were less than helpful, passing the buck and not taking "That didn't answer my questions" for an answer. The last guy referred me to Customer Support, and basically hung up on me after asking "Was that helpful" and getting a "Well, really I can't tell you if it is helpful or not since I have to ask someone else now." (the third person I've been routed to, mind you. I know you can fax/email a bill, but I pay my bill automatically and never see a paper bill... so that won't work for me. Anyone has any suggestions I'm open, but past that I have to wait until I have "Time Warner" alloted time to sit and wait for Customer Support to either figure it out or pass the buck... and I know where my money is on which will happen. I hope I'm wrong.
Alright, good to see it's not only me. I called Time Warner and they didn't really help, but they did say that it's possible that the subscription doesn't technically kick in until the free preview is over. I actually thought this might be the case, since when I watch the games there's a little scrollbar at the bottom that says "you are watching a free preview". So hopefully when the free preview is done tomorrow, the actual subscription starts and LPBB will recognize my time warner acount, finally. Also, you should also consider that if this theory is correct, it could still possible take the "5 days to register" with the NBA like it says at the activation screen. I guess we'll find out tomorrow (or next week). I'll post if there's any updates from my end.
I'm having the exact same problem. I submitted a ticket online complaining about it but I haven't heard anything back...hopefully it'll kick in as soon as the free preview is over. And by the way I want to complain to somebody...I bought League Pass to watch all the games and last night's Rockets game and tonight's OKC-Lakers game were on NBA TV, which for some reason is not included in the package. So we have no NBA TV and don't even get the games on League Pass, which makes no ******* sense at all. I paid $170 I don't understand why they take games away. Not thrilled.
Kevin Durant had an awful finish to that Lakers game, which happened to coincide with me tuning into it. He scored 28 through three quarters, but was seemingly invisible the rest of the way.
I'm hoping it's going to work out, but not when I want it to, and let's just say it's not a well oiled machine. I'm not as confident as you that it's just going to kick in and register. I was told by customer support tonight that because I ordered after a certain time, my bill won't reflect the charge until the 6th (for me)... and perhaps that is why it's not registering... but they don't really know. This also means that any current statement that I could send them won't have the league pass on there yet, until the 6th (for me). Further, even if it does 'kick in' at that point, it sounds as if it could be another 5 business days after that? Or maybe I'm just at the pessimistic defcon4. The person I talked to was actually helpful, but couldn't send me what I need, couldn't tell me where to get it, and in the end, the advice was "go to the [brick-n-mortar] and ask if you can get a printout of current services" or "it -should- show up on your next statement." Yeah, not thrilled about that myself. I don't know what NBAtv costs (maybe it's less than I think?), but if you get LeaguePass you ought to get NBAtv for free just so you don't miss games... leaves a bad taste in the customer's mouth... if you pay that much, seeing all of one team's games (I would guess the main draw for the product?) shouldn't be that much to ask. Lastly, I thought we didn't have any "nationally televised games" this year? These don't count I guess? Yet already this is a recurring issue? Not thrilled about it at all.
I decided to get the 7 team package on LP BB this year instead of getting the full LP. I only really want to watch the Rockets games anyway...saves half of the money. Has anyone got the 7 team package? I have not been asked to select 7 teams and I'm still able to see all the games. Is that the case for everyone? Or maybe it's just because it's still during the free preview period...
you are correct lalala. the account goes to choice package starting tomorrow i believe. let us know how it goes. I'm automatically enrolled in the choice package but would like to know how other users feel about it. the home/away audio feature isn't much. it's radio as your only choice.
