Haha I agree with you. I have a Samsung tv and it turns off itself sometimes. For a while, I thought there was a ghost in my room.

Well enlighten me with your extensive knowledge of electronics, tell me which other manufacturers make "baller tvs and monitors." Because we all know that a person with immense electronic knowledge refers to high quality products as "baller."

i *do* know one thing about Samsung monitors and tvs

before I bought my first HD tv (a 50" DLP) I did a ton of comparison shopping online, read every site I could find for user reviews, and almost uniformly all the serious techgeeks had nothing but good things to say about Samsung.

I bought it well over a year ago, and have had zero problems....it looks fantastic(ask moe)

I liked it so much that I recently picked up a Samsung LCD HDtv/

also works like a charm.... sharp, clear, and bright with no dead pixels.

then I picked up a 20" Samsung widescreen LCD monitor, same story as above.

reading thru your list it occured to me that you were judging Samsung tvs on your experiences with optical drives (hard drives, cd/dvd drives)....only one thing you listed was a tv that has a bad pixel or two (which is NOT uncommon with LCDs).

I would not buy a samsung hard drive, but Ill gladly buy another tv/monitor since that division of Samsung is consistently well rated by consumers.

oh yea,and also, my Samsung a900 takes a licking and keeps on ticking, Ibeat hell out of it and it still works fine.

The TV didn't have a couple of bad pixels. It was an entire purple and green area... and after a little while of watching it, another greenish area would appear. The 2nd one would go away if I turned off but the purple/green one never has. Considering it isn't LCD a couple of bad pixels would not be the problem. I also mentioned dvd burners, a camcorder and a set-top dvd recorder.

I've had bad experiences with Samsung... so sue me. Maybe I just have bad luck I guess. I also forgot to mention a cousin of mine bought a Samsung digital cam and it blows on every level.

    Ditto.

I've never owned a Samsung TV, but they sure do know how to make durable phones.

Samsung probably makes the best electronic products today. The reliability of items they make are better than most of the stuff on the market

I hear nothing but good things about Samsung TVs but I have bought two Samsung digital cameras in the past and both broke, one just 2 weeks after the purchase.

How can a company be good at one type of electronic then suck at another?
