blah, blah, blah. No sense in whining about the offense... this team will never win any games if they give up 109 points each time.
believe me, if Gay is still in houston? he is no way to be good like today, when teams get yao and tmc, there is no.....no way a rookie can get enough time to develop fast. just remind me who are the rookies we draft last three years? i really can't remember the names!!!! so feel happy for Gay, he is playing well now and could has a bright future.
The key word here is consistency. The system needs consistency from the whole team and frankly the parts around T-Mac and Yao aren't consistent on any level. First, I want Aaron Brooks and Steve Francis to play most of the minutes at point (not in that order.) Mike James doesn't fit in well because he's, well you know. Then offer a package for Peja or AK. AK is usually a good scorer and has all around skills. Peja is a consistent shooter. Their contracts are tough, but if we want to be serious, Les is going to have to pay up.
you know why we are bash yao and tmc? one simply reason, they don't have any leadship skill, they play well , but they are not the leader. and nobody in our team can be a leader. SF3 used to be a leader, and now? play with TMC , no way. i know yao and tmc have been talking , but we need they to speak up, damn, how can we lost king when yao and tmc combine 69 points? bash the role players? no, no, i would say for them, how can we find the touch when only shot 5,6 times a game!!!
That is why they are called ROLE PLAYERS. They arent meant to get 15 shots a game. They play a ROLE on the team, get a few shots (5 or 6 is about right) and they knock down a good percentage of them. ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE WIDE OPEN And if you dont think Tmac lead tonight then you are crazy. He put the team on his back and carried them in the second half. People are saying because he was "smiling after he made a shot" that he is not a true leader and doesnt care about winning. Tmac lead tonight, i gurentee you that. SO your point is pretty invalid
5-6 times? Rafer get munch of wide open shots every single time, and now they living Battier open that has no reason for shotting to poorly, I never thought that team will leave Battier wide open in the conner time after time. Now we have 3 liabilities in the starting line-up right now. Shane will pick up his 3 point shooting he is always been at that, but Rafer can start for Houston, no way, no more. To bad Steve got hurt. AB0 and Steve should be out regular rotation PGs.
ROFL, are you telling that rofflesaurus moron to lay off? Not in a thousand years . This fool comes over to hate and he hopes for the team to lose so he can bash the Rockets player(s) that he hates. I can almost feel how ecstatic this fool is with the team's poor record recently. But he does seem to have tuned it down a bit probably because he has been called out by different people too many times lately. But rest assured that this moron will be back with more b****ing sooner or later. What a sad story this fool is.
Could not agree more. Yao and Tmac do everything they can, but the rest of our team is just pathetic. It amazes me how many open shots and layups we miss. This only compounds the problems, as opposing teams focus more and more on Yao and Tmac.
I know what you mean. It's like something is missing but come on man, I think if your two best players combine for 69 points then the team could at least pull a little of their weight. But it's not about the offense even man, our defense has been horrendous. It's nowhere near what it was last season. We need to step up the D and that will take time (and might not even happen) in Adelman's system. Also, the role players are wide open most of the time I don't know how many shots you need to find your stroke when the shots are wide open. Everyone knows deep down that if T-Mac and Yao gave more shots to the role players, we would be almost a lottery team. They keep this team alive. The role players are along for the ride, they need to contribute more than they do. It's not working yet. It's only been 18 games though. Give it 41. By All-Star break, you will really know how good this team is.
tmac needs to get his teammates involved and get his assists HIGH if he wants to increase the chance of wins. he did this last year when he passed more and got 20 points per game. Him shooting all day and making his teammates look like chumps wont result in wins. His teammates apparently can't score unless he creates for them. Rafer is an NBA PG, but he can't create or score: so the only guy in the team who can create is TMAC, and to a lesser extent SF3. So they're DUDS until tmac creates. He isn't as good as nash in creating but he just needs to create rather than score more. YOu score 40 and shoot 30 shots a game..the whole opposing squad will hound all over you..and yao will get bullied and flustered pretty easily since he's 7'6 and not athletic and in the 4th if the game is close yao will turn it over or miss his turn around jumpers due to increased intensity of defense by the other team.
koopa T-Mac didn't start shooting everything until the second half when he realized that his so-called teammates couldn't hit shots. He can create all he wants if his teammates can't shoot it doesn't matter. Plus he's not the point guard. The burden of creating is supposed to fall on Rafer's back, but aside from the fact that Rafer can't shoot he's not much of a passer either. Don't get me started on Shane Battier and Chuck Hayes. I guaranty you this. No team with Chuck Hayes in the starting line up will ever win a championship in todays NBA. CH is good enough to be the 12th man on someone's bench not a starter anywhere. This team starts 3 guys who can't score and then they wonder why they can't win.
You have no way of knowing that. Why? Well, hmm, because we traded him. He's not the only scorer on Memphis, like Durant is the only scorer on Seattle. Memphis has Pau Gasol and Mike Miller, both of which are pretty good scorers. Rudy Gay seems to be doing just fine with that. Face it. We blew it. Like we've blown it many other times in the draft. There's no use in living in the past, but to argue that Gay wouldn't be helping us more than Battier at this point is just plain dumb.
I UNDERSTAND BUT WE ROCKET FANS HAVE GONE THREW TOOOOOOOOO MUCH DISAPPOINTMENT!! WE HAVE ARGUABLY TWO OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE NBA AND WE STIIIIIIIILL STRUGGLE!! SO IF WE DONT GET OUT FIRST ROUND THIS YEAR THEN WUT!!?? WE GOTTA GO TMAC 4 KOBE NOW... THATS A NO BRAINER!!!
Gay is history, We did not get him past, we can't have him now...Just face it We need to develop our role player, trust them, play them... Scola can be a 3rd player, just trust him, start him...Hayes is not a starter in any other NBA team
I understand some of the posters here but all of you asking a 3rd Scorer you have to take this into account. We have only two players that have scored 20 or more points on more than one night other than Yao and Tmac. Those are Scola and Wells. We have only 4 that have reached 18. Scola, Wells, Alston and James. So far of this players the only one shooting over 40% is Scola, how can you have a consistent 3rd scorer if he takes 20 shots on one night and 1 on the other. This is called unconsistent coaching and that´s it, if your players don´t pass the ball to Scola is the coach problem to be solved. Same happens with Francis, the guy gives you 3 consistent matches and he earned what?? DNP?? Please Rick Adelman come to your senses....
Though there are moments of weakness displayed during game time but I personally do not want to point the losses to the superstars. They got 69 pts against the Kings and made mistakes here and there but eliminsating those mistakes would make us contend or even win this game. I think the main culprit is on the others and the bench. If they make what I would considered as a reasonable about of shots based on their attempts and open looks, we would have won this game and probably got better than 9-9 now. However, some of these players are well known or established themselves as unable to make a decent %FG which cannot be improved with training THEN ADELMAN has to derive gameplans to use them effectively without scoring and he has not done that yet. HOWEVER, overall this is not easy. It is not easy to derive gameplans for these inconsistency shooters if your opponent can score very well.
