I can guess about another scenario playing out. Lawson has a great year, and everyone is excited that we will have him back next year for a reasonable contract number. But then inexplicably, the Rockets waive him, making him a free agent free to seek a large multi-year deal. Just like when the Rockets inexplicably didn't pick up Parsons' option. What are the odds there is a wink wink deal in place that we will let him out of the last year of his deal, and this is why Lawson agreed to waive his guarantee?
Wow, all the Morey hugging. Surprised that none has gone on the record saying the Lawson trade is helping the mankind ... Am I the only one that is kinda lukewarm to Lawson, never really impressed with him.
Well, last time we did this it was to sign Dwight. If Morey makes another deal like this, presumably it will be to get someone else who’s a client of Happy Wolters. Seems far-stretched IMO.
