We finally get the point guard we have been craving for years in his prime and is a legit pass first point guard and we are gonna ask him to come off the bench???? Bev can start the games Lawson is suspended for....that's it. Wolverine needs less minutes and.......come off the bench....
Lawson is the best passed and arguably the best playmaker and the best decision maker on the team. Beverly is a energy guy.
Harden can start being Harden again. I hate how he went all Rondo halfway through the year and was passing up wide open layups to kick it out to the corners. Made me yell every time.
Guess who these two players are (Per 36 Minutes stats from last season):
Player Season FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PTS 1 2014-15 5.2 12.3 .424 1.2 3.3 .369 4.0 9.0 .444 4.0 5.1 .795 0.5 3.2 3.7 6.4 1.5 0.6 3.1 15.7 2 2014-15 5.5 12.5 .436 0.9 2.8 .341 4.5 9.7 .463 3.6 4.9 .730 0.6 2.6 3.2 9.7 1.2 0.1 2.5 15.4

If it's lin and this is supposed to be some kind of insult towards Lawson, go look up CP3's stats and Michael Conleys stats and compare them with Lawson.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. I did look them up, and CP3 and Conley have way better stats than Lawson in almost every category.
And here is the more relevant statistics: Lawson, the first and primary option on his team who sees the focus of opponent defenses vs. Lin, a backup, who plays against benches and is pretty much ignored by opponent defenses: Lawson - Lin Ortg - 113 to 104 OBPM - 2.7 to 0.5 USG - 20.6% to 21.9% TOV - 14.6% to 17.7% AST% - 43.0% to 28.6% So to put it simply, Lawson, who is sees more defensive pressure, manages to produce 9 more points over 100 possessions than Lin, while handling the ball less and turning the ball over less.
Back to the discussion about about Bench vs. Starter, I actually prefer Lawson off the bench for the same reasons I liked Lin. When you get to this level of talent, the focus becomes how to do you work the lineups to produce the maximum amount of offensive production and limit the opposing team's offensive production. Elite teams bring elite level players off the bench (Harden, McHale, Ginobili, etc.). This is not a slight on Lawson or overrating of Beverley. Yes, Lawson is clearly better than Beverley, but our starting unit, which I am defining as Bev, Harden, Ariza, Dmo, Howard, was able to score at 57% TS and 1.15 PPP, which is pretty dang good. This unit held opponents to just 52% TS and 1.01PPP. That is a nice balance. When Harden is on the bench, this team produced only 49.9% TS, and .97 PPP which is horrible. Opponents, on the other hand, were producing 50.4% TS and 1.01 PPP. This is where we were losing ground in the past. Our starting lineup had very few instances of trouble scoring. Yes, you can point to the 12 turnover game, but that was an exception rather than the norm. Our bench (Harden off the court), on the other hand, had a hell of a time scoring, all the time, while maintaining a fairly strong defensive presence.
I don't think it matter who ever starts or comes of the bench. Lawson needs to be in the game 30+ minutes. Harden is a turnover machine and Lawson should bring the ball down the court to both rest Harden and cut down on turnovers. If your goal is to keeps Harden's stats where they are, then yes you should minimize the time that Lawson is on the court. If your goal is to have a more efficient offense and score more points, well Lawson at 30+ min. is your huckleberry. assuming Lawson is dry of course
