Wonder if Bosh will read and post his thoughts on his tweeter account. The site is great and hope it works.
Thanks. BTW, Dirk Nowitski has opted out of his contract and the murmur up here is that Cuban has to sign another star player in order to keep Dirk in Dallas. In the past, he has made noises about going after Bosh. We shall see...
Amazing work. Half the team? The package would be centered around draft picks, in all likelihood, and the expiring contracts - the likes of Jeffries and Andersen - aren't major contributors, anyway. It sounds like you're taking an NFL approach to an NBA situation. "Salary cap hell?" In the NBA, if you're not at least $10 mil under the cap, you might as well be $30 mil over (or however much your owner will pay in the luxury tax, but the Rockets have said repeatedly that's not going to be an issue). With the MLE and LLE, there's no benefit to being around the cap, a little under or a little over. You either need to be $10 mil+ under to have max or near-max flexibility, or it's irrelevant. With Martin's contract and upcoming extensions for the likes of Scola and Brooks, the Rockets have no chance to get that far under the cap unless Yao's return is a failure and they let him walk. In that case, the Rockets' blueprint is screwed regardless, so why plan for that hypothetical? You said it yourself - Morey has a "pretty nice" future set up. Nothing to complain about, but it's also unlikely to result in a championship as is, and the Rockets know it. It'll help having a shot blocker/defensive presence in the lane, but that's not all that separates these Rockets from winning a title. Depth is nice, but the modern-day NBA is about stars - the way Boston picked up Garnett and Allen and the Lakers picked up Gasol. The Rockets with the old Yao back (fairly optimistic) would be a good team, but as Morey has repeatedly said, the name of the game in the NBA is All-Star talent. This team needs another to truly contend. Bosh is the perfect opportunity to add one without disrupting the style and skills of the current group.
That's a part of the point. Lots of cities will roll out the red carpet, so to speak, with projects like this for LeBron or Wade. With Bosh, something like this is more unique and stands a better shot at making an impact. That's exactly why the lead headline contrasts with other teams that are focusing on LeBron.
Hahaha yes actually I saw it after posting my comment, and thought: "im so stupid" but couldn't edit my bad bro!
My gut tells me that Clutch isn't doing this completely on his own initiative. It looks to me like this site was borne out of a little wizardly encouragement...
Clutch, the site is truly AMAZING! Great job with it!! The ClutchFans community doing our part to get Bosh before July 1st. After then, it's up to Morey!
Well if Clutch had to photoshop a Bosh jersey he kind of has to use his current number..like who would know if he shoped a Bosh jersey with the number 6
