Mexican here. (I know... you're surprised! ) There are THREE, count them, THREE, Home Depots from Downtown to Fry Rd. on I-10, all on the North side of the freeway. They're all easily accessible, and only one isn't facing the freeway. You can't miss them. Basically, cheap labor will buy cheap materials, and Lowe's is a bit more expensive. Contractors who hire "Latinos" (I know what you mean by that, it's actually 99% Mexican, though) usually will have more business with HD than with Lowe's... this is just my opinion, no real research, but I can't help thinking it's all the "easy cheap and illegal labor" helping contractors. Legal workers will get lazy and think they can't do that. I like Home Depot, though, just because I've compared prices and stuff I can't find at Wal-Mart is cheaper at HD than it is at Lowe's. I mean light bulbs, tape, painting supplies, etc. Heavy duty stuff can't be found at Wal-Mart.
