Remember when those 5 covid cases in Seattle were going to go down to zero in short order? Or remember when the US was going to be reopened/back to business on Easter 2020? Just a refresher on what actual failure to anticipate looks like.

i dont like harris, but i dont see anything wrong or "buffoonish" in her comments. there is a quote from biden saying ""While the virus hasn’t been vanquished, we know this: It no longer controls our lives. It no longer paralyzes our nation. And it’s within our power to make sure it never does again." clearly he jumped the gun with that comment, but again, i dont see anything wrong with harris comments that the OP posted.

and if you have a problem with what harris said (or started a thread about it), but had no problem (or did not start a thread) about trump saying that there were only 15 cases of covid in the united states and soon there would be zero then you might be a partisan hack. did the thread starter create any threads about all the stupid things trump said regarding covid?

if you want to criticize the biden administrations response but had no problem with trump saying all this garbage than you should probably just STFU...youre a partisan hack.

I think you are confused, unless the followers of Harris are republicans.

Not that I am a fan of Harris, but how does this debate explain why so many Republicans aren't getting vaccinated?

Dr. Fauci contradicts Kamala Harris' claim the administration did not predict variants but says Omicron is 'unprecedented': Believes US should be 'flooded with free at home testing' after Psaki mocked idea
    • Kamala Harris on Friday told The Los Angeles Times that the government did not see Omicron coming because the scientists failed to predict it
    • On Sunday Dr Anthony Fauci, Joe Biden's chief medical advisor, took issue with her claim
    • Fauci said that the administration knew it was likely there would be more variants after Delta, and saw Omicron coming from Southern Africa and Europe
    • Biden will on Tuesday address the nation as COVID-19 surges once again and lockdowns are reimposed in parts of Europe

Yeah, you may be obsessed with Trump but I don't discuss him. Trump is completely irrelevant to me. Kamala being a clown isn't as she's the acting VP and Biden obviously has health issues. You won't condemn her though because you're a partisan hack. Don't bother responding

Fauci: We did not anticipate extent of omicron's mutations
BY CAROLINE VAKIL - 12/19/21 09:38 AM EST

President Biden’s chief medical adviser, Anthony Fauci, said on Sunday that while officials anticipated new coronavirus variants, they did not anticipate the extent of omicron's mutations.

“We definitely saw variants coming. I think ... what was not anticipated was the extent of the mutations in the amino acid substitutions in omicron, which is really unprecedented,” Fauci told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”

“It kind of came out of nowhere, where you have a virus that has 50 mutations, 30 of which are in the spike protein and 10 or 12 of which are in the receptor-binding domain. I mean to me, that's really quite unprecedented,” he added.

Fauci noted, however, that if a virus is given ample time to replicate, it will mutate and can sometimes create new variants, such as in the case of the delta variant.

Omicron, which was first discovered in South Africa last month, has officially been spotted in 89 countries, the World Health Organization said on Saturday. It was officially detected in the United States early this month, and scientists are now racing to learn more about the variant, including how severe it could be.

Fauci on Sunday emphasized that Americans need to get vaccinated, or get COVID-19 boosters if they are eligible.

“Because when you look at omicron and what it's doing - the protection from it like a two-dose mRNA vaccine is quite good, particularly against severe disease. But when you get to omicron, the protection significantly goes down,” Fauci said. “But the good news is when you boost someone, it goes right back up, and that's the reason why there's such an emphasis on the part of all of us.”

ok. to all the partisan hacks out there and those who start threads criticizing harris for saying they did not anticipate the omicron variant - "what about trump", who said in february 2020 that 15 cases would go down to zero? "what about trump", who praised the response of the chinese government in february 2020? or "what about trump" saying in march 2020 that covid would go away at the end of the month?

did you start start any threads complaining about all the times trump was wrong or all the stupid things he said? if you did, id be curious to see those threads.

    @Os Trigonum

What have been the ramifications of what Harris said? Did the administration relax efforts in fighting Covid?

so in other words, the answer is "no". you did not start any threads criticizing trump for all the buffoonish and stupid things he said regarding covid.

and this isnt a "criticize harris thread" as much as a blatant display of partisan hackery.

none that I know of, other than Fauci having to contradict her on Meet the Press.

if you mean ramifications of Biden being (in a sense) overconfident, I think it has hurt his approval ratings and made him significantly less effective at everything else. The administration at times has looked inept, like they don't know what they're doing.

and ib4 @jo mama says what about Trump
