Theyve beaten the suns with this tempo but I fail to see how its Sams fault that Cuttino consistantly missed layups and Kaman didnt look to active in this game. Brand and Cassel were great.

Easy out for you since Sam hasn't guarded anybody since he came into the league. :D

Cassell's poor play throughout the series cost the Clippers a trip to the West Con Championships.

    thats a pretty bogus call.

from my standpoint, cassell did all that could be asked of him.

    hey aussie,
some people on this board hate the former rocket greats. i dont think they are ignorant, they know sam had a good series, hitting clutch shots, coming close to triple doubles. they just hate. they are the al queda of clutchfans.

So Cat shooting 4-10 is bad but Sam shooting 4-11 is good?

moniker, did you HONESTLY WATCH THE WHOLE GAME? I watched EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAMN SERIES. In game 7, Cuttino missed WIDE OPEN JUMPERS and WIDE OPEN LAYUPS. Cassell was hounded by Marion and Bell.
Overall Sam was magnificent on the way he hit clutch shots and drew fouls and handed out assists. Cuttino only had one really good game.

    Game 1

    Cuttino's stats
    1-6 shooting 3pts 1 assist
    Sam's stat's
    10-19 28pts 4 assists

    Game 2
    Cuttino's stats
    9-16 shooting 23pts 3 assist
    Sam's stat's
    8-12 23pts 6 assists

    Game 3
    Cuttino's stats
    6-14 shooting 14pts 2 assist
    Sam's stat's
    2-10 6pts 4 assists

    Game 4
    Cuttino's stats
    4-10 shooting 10pts 1 assist
    Sam's stat's
    9-20 28pts 9 assists

    Game 5
    Cuttino's stats
    5-17 shooting 10pts 0 assist
    Sam's stat's
    11-24 32pts 5 assists

    Game 6
    Cuttino's stats
    3-8 shooting 9pts 6 assist
    Sam's stat's
    5-11 15pts 8 assists

Cat could have made every shot in game 7 and it wouldn't have made a difference. He missed 6 shots, one of them a 3 pointer. That accounts for 13 possible points he didn't score. The Suns won by 20 points. Even if Cat should have made every shot (since you seem unsatisfied with his 40% shooting) they still would have lost by 7 because they didn't stop the Suns. I'm not saying Cat played great, or even that he played well. I am saying that him missing a shot or two that he should have made did not lose them the game. To blame Cat for the loss is wrong and pathetic. It would be more fair to blame Sam for losing game 3 when he went 2-10 and the Suns won by 3. I don't see you calling him out for that one though.

Cat played more minutes than anyone but Brand for the Clippers in the series, yet he was one of the only ones covering on the perimeter throughout game 7. He was pulling down 5+ boards per game in a series where domination of the glass was critical in every Clipper victory. He shot 92% from the charity stripe. He was great whenever they put him in the post. He was asked to defend PFs like Thomas in the post. He had a bad shooting series, after he had a good shooting series against Denver. He cannot be blamed for the Clippers losing game 7 or losing the series.

he played poorly in the last game, but he was great on boards and slashing through the lane.
the rockets dont have anyone like this guy off the bench.

oh yes he can. cat shouldnt be missing point blank layups. 35 million bucks.
i was a huge cat fan before this series. not only in game 7, but in the other games. sam had on and off nights, but cuttino consistently had horrible shooting nights that included missing layups. 2 of his 4 field goals that he made were in garbage time. cat played better when he was a rookie with the rockets then he did in this series. the stats for the last game doesnt sum up the choke job cuttino did.

So your response to the fact that even if Cat made all of his shots, they still would have lost is that him missing shots is the reason they lost?

Cat Mobley was the only player on the Clippers to do those intangible things that win championships ~ too bad no one else on the team could reach his level of intensity.

they would have won earlier close games and his making shots would build momentum.
granted other people blundered too like kaman, but cuttino shouldnt be the one yaking about it.

That might be a good point if Sam had not shot 2-10 in the closest of the Clipper losses (Cat went 6-14 for 14 pts, in case you were wondering). You are really making this too easy.

Moniker, Cuttino didnt hit any shots in crunch time. That game, Sam sat out the entire 4th (almost). You are arguing against someone who watched the games.

I dont know why you are defending him, cuttino had a horrible series, every writer in every paper who saw the games know about it. i dont know what you are defending anymore. Cuttino? or yourself.

Why dont u ask the Clipper fans if Cuttino had a good series?

Clippers guard Cuttino Mobley has a $42 million contract but didn't deliver a $42 million season. He scored 10 points in Game 7, then blasted teammates for not playing hard enough.
