I would not let the fracture heal naturally. I'd rather Yao get surgery ASAP, and then come back when he's good. (Second half of the season - postseason.)
I think he should take the surgery, and the unorthodox one at that. I think it's worth the risk and rest and natural healing aren't going to be enough.
Stuck between the 2 walls eh?? Well I think its best if we only have one Wall...either we are able to utilise our GREAT WALL and go nowhere near the J WALL orrrr we go full steam for the J WALL while we lose THE GREAT WALL for a lil while....................................... thats why I want this starting 5 next season for the Rockets: Sessions Wafer Ariza Scola Dorsey that team...even if Tmac comes back halfway through the season...would probably go for something around 28-53...good enough for a top 5 pick in wats shaping up to be an awesome 2010 draft and FREE AGENCY
Sounds like one of the options is the Ilgauskas treatment (reshaping the bone structure of the foot). If he can have the same outcome Ilgauskas has had, that would be fantastic.
i have absolutely no problem with that. in my mind yao should not have ever been the rockets primary offensive weapon. that was tmac...and prob someone else now (supposing he can't or won't play for the rockets again). i love yming but if he is putting up 20 and 10 a night we still lose if he is the only weapon. we need a fire powering pg, a backup center and a tmac (good tmac) to make this ship sail
I feel bad for Yao, he's probably one of the hardest working players in the NBA and he just doesn't have luck. He played great this season and I wish him luck with the foot surgery, it sounds very tough.
Nice to see a pryuen reference here. Wishing Yao the best,it must be very hard for him to go through all that. All the pros and cons need to be looked at very carefully, with the best evidence based treatment available.
Why doesn't pryuen post on clutchfans anymore? Was it because people just got annoyed when he toolishly requested people to praise him for his inside info?
Am I the only one noting that Ilgauskas missed multiple seasons and was about 8 years younger than Yao when the surgery went down?
not worth it for yao. if he can live a normal life pain free without having this surgery, then i say call it quits. he's made max money for years now. ride out the remaining 2 years on the IR, and retire.
No, just one of the ones not foolish enough to buy into the comeback. Its over and I don't know why people don't understand this.
I am surprised Yao, who is from China, isn't looking at different alterntives than surgery. I have met several people to whon miracles took place with medical treatments in China such as Chi and other alternatives involving energy. A friend of my parents had a terrible accident and everyone in Europe and USA was telling him he had no shot to walk again ever. He went to China for 5 years and somehow came back walking, running and everything... He is now learning and teaching this medcine.
