you can't compare brooks to james. it's just not fair..................... for james. if you compare to total positive and the total negative of each player, mike james my get flat out "bought out of his contract".. this guy has played in the last 4 season of his career 3 of the top 8 big guys in the league (Yao, KG, and Bosh) and he has yet to get job done. besides his trigger happy season in toronto, where mass shot attempts and low shooting percentage still turned into average a career high in points for him, he has done nothing in his entire career, but show streaky fire. a fair comparison for mike james would be eddie house
I think you have to ask yourself if either are good enough to potentially play big minutes in a crunch time game, if need be. Right now the answer is probably no considering Brooks' and his lack of experience and James with his lack of anything right now. I want somebody better. An insurance policy. If it's not Mike James I certainly can't think it will be an untested rookie like Brooks.
Mike James is simply untradable right now except next year perhaps as an expiring contract. Other than that, if you want to pick up another guy who can actually play, yeah buy him out and get rid of him.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3255700 yeah, that trade sucks for us. we would give away bonzi just to get out of james' contract. sucks
