Hmmmm, tough question to answer, let me explain why. If there is no structural damage or any danger of injuring it worse, then I think the player should try to play. However, in Landry's case he is on a one year contract, and IMHO, he should do whatever is necessary to protect himself....ahead of the team. If he were on a guaranteed contract that lasted longer than this year, then yes, I would like him to nut it up and play, but he isn't and I understand him making COMPLETELY sure he is ok before he gives it a go. A tear? Wasn't it just Tmac saying that? DD
Is a tear in a tendon, often referred to as a torn ligament the same as a strain...in TMac's case, a "strained popliteal tendon." just wondering
As I understand it, it is a very minor tearing/straining of the ligament......kind of like the strained elbow he had..... So any strain is actually a small tear...I think. DD
Ok, so that begs the question as to what type of MRI that Landry had, did he get the really detailed one? Or the other one where they missed Tmac's injury. DD
Getting Landry back means nothing if Tmac keeps shooting 6 for 21! The problem is not missing Landry, its Tmac settling for jumpers, and not attacking the rim for 40+ mins.
McGrady wouldn't have to settle for so many jumpers if more people could finish when he found them under the basket.
The swelling happens after he plays, and goes away later... so I doubt they took the MRI while the knee was swollen. Also, as for McGrady's "tear", that wasn't really a tear. They said it was a strain from the beginning, and from what I understand, that by definition means that there are "mictrotears". That is not a long term injury.
Exactly my point....if that is what Landry is dealing with, then the swelling should not really be a concern. DD
My knee swelled up like a football. Took a week off and then tried to run on it again too early. It swelled up like a football again so had to take two more weeks for it to get better. What took 3 weeks to heal should have only took at most 2 weeks had I been smarter about it. Diagnosis Bursitis (Water on the Knee)
i don't think anyone knows until shootaround. he'll test it tonight and if he feels good, he'll play. in my opinion, i don't think he'll play tonight b/c it's the front of a b2b. he'll play tomorrow for sure i think.
I'd rather him play today and rest tomorrow. GS doesn't have inside presence. But against Suns, Landry will get buried between Snack A'Meal and Amare.
who cares about inside presence? the warriors can score. we need offense to counter when they go on a run. do you want that lineup to include hayes AND deke?
