At this point only time will tell what is going on. But it was first reported as not very serious right after he got injured... now it's 6 games and counting. Aside from whether or not chuck434 is correct, I have an uneasy feeling concerning the Rockets medical staff. How long did they diddle around with T-mac's back spasms before he was told about Dr. Patterson in Waco by another athlete who had been helped by him? I don't recall any episodes of spasms this year that kept T-mac out of any games. Most doctors are not very knowledgeable about nutrition and what would be called "alternative" or "out of the mainstream" therapies. Therapeutic doses of vitamins, minerals and other supplements, can definitely help speed recovery from injury to soft tissue and cartlidge. I would expect their trainer to know more about this than the doctors but... All I can say is my gut tells me they could make improvements.
this is a good point. and this is why i say that we will not see Yao even if we do make it to the finals somehow, china would not risk that at all
i believe chuck434 and i think hes telling the truth. things have to start looking good for landry to see the court anytime soon. the swelling after working out is very concerning and obviously theres an underlying problem.
The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that it is just his agent and him being cautious. If he had a long term contract he might even be playing now....but he has to think of his career, and not just this season. This could be a case of the one year contract hurting our team in the playoff hunt... DD
Still tmac should have sat out probaly this long, but he tried to come back and play on his to early. he does have a longer contract than landry but he should have sat out longer
I don't understand. Why wouldn't it just be *everyone* being cautious. Rockets, Landry and agent all in agreement. What are you, a conspiracy theorist. Are we to believe that the Rockets are saying, "we know you have swelling, but we would like you to play today." (which means they are conspiring to fool everyone in the media with their real intentions. While he and his agent are saying, "No, we'll pass. We're in a contract year." How about Okam's Razor. Maybe there is no conspiracy of dunces.
Concerning The Rockets Medical staff, one would think this would be the city to get anything done, except maybe cosmetic surgery. Its easy to criticize and question their staff, but I can only assume they're providing the team with the best doctors an organization can provide. What about Keith Jones, how much involved is he in evaluating the players? I know he;s know doctor, but he's been around long enough to determine if something may be wrong I think.
his agent would be smart to keep holding him out with nothing guaranteed after this season. that is what he is paid to do --> look after his client's best interest. if he came back, halfway and not full strength, struggled with his game, then his value would go down at the end of the year.
Huh? Are you having trouble comprehended what I wrote. Show me where I disagree with you. DaDakota is implying the agent is the one behind holding Landry out. I'm saying, why wouldn't the Rockets also be in agreement with that sentiment. Why wouldn't the Rockets, the agent and Landry all be in agreement to not play him until he's ready? If it's just the agent and Landry holding him out, doesn't that mean the Rockets are lying to the media...a conspiracy theory.
The rockets doctors suck bad.If he needs minor sergery he should of gotten it a week ago and he would be returning in like 1 week from know.
It is just a theory....but... I think it may be like Gilbert Arenas, where the needs of the career outweigh the needs of the team. Whereas if he had a long term contract already in place, he might be playing through some minor swelling. Maybe the team is saying "Ok you can play" but his agent and him are saying "Well, not quite yet" Who really knows though HP..... DD
The Landry injury boggles my mind. If he doesn't come back within 10 games from now (and we don't hear news about surgery) I'm gonna be convinced that it's a conspiracy and I'll never watch another NBA game again, lol. According to today's preview, he is at least traveling with us to New Orleans, which is usually a good sign, and we need him for West.
I understood that he was still building his confidence to get back out on the court and play in the real game.
we should just let this thread die because whatever news we get is either wrong or status is twighlight zone.
Okay, I misread your post a little, but I think if the rockets had their way they would play him right now. Players play less then full strength all the time. The exception here is the one year contract and the agent. It sounds crazy but the way he plays the last few weeks of the season and the playoffs will effect his next contract. His stock is soaring right now and his exposure is at an all time high for him. Poor play at this point would really cost him. Its like a college player who is highly rated sitting on the combine if he was not full strength.
