i thought he was sitting out because he is only signed for this one year and his agent won't let him back on the floor until he is all the way back.. ie: no swelling or anything like that. at the end of the day it is a business decision. they want him playing back at the level that he was so he can get paind in 2 months.
chuck, I believe you. Kind of. the actual injury could be a a periosteal aka bone bruise. But also, around 80% of acute acl tears show up as bone bruises on MRI. that's what my friend anna, a med student, messaged me. This reminds me too much of ahman green. I still have faith he will be back by the time playoffs begin.
A couple of unnerving stuff. First is the swelling. It could just be a meniscus problem, but the fact that Landry has had repeated swelling on his surgically repaired knee doesn't bode well. Like someone said, swelling can hide potential problems even with an MRI. Second is the hinged knee brace that he was shown wearing in several pictures posted by pryuen in one of the Rockets practice threads. Several posters have said it's probably just precautionary, but I remain skeptical. You don't wear a hinged brace that impedes lateral movement of the knee on simple bruises and meniscus problems, or even tendonitis. That thing, as far as I know, is to keep the knee from having jarring lateral movement for people who have ACL issues. I don't know if it's right (legally or morally) if the team is indeed withholding information, but I don't think we are getting the full picture of Landry's injury here. chuck434 may be legit, or he may not, but by deduction, I think there's really a high possibility that Landry might have reinjured his ACL again. The signs are all there. It might not be a complete tear, but a partial tear is not out of the question. The question that begs answering is, just what the hell are the Rockets' medical staff doing?!
1) You would never, in a million years, call out a surgeon this way if you were a doctor. 2) You are diagnosing this injury without having taken a look? That's absolutely absurd. 3) More than anything else, I would like to know why you would make this up? What do you gain out of this? The outside chance that you may be right by some miracle giving you credibility on a message board? Ridiculous. You have no idea what you are talking about. Show some class dude.
Oh and FYI Mr. "20 years", if Carl Landy has retorn his ACL and needs a revision ACLR, then he will not be out "probably". He will undoubtedly be out for the season, and probably won't be at full health till next regular season.
Hey, I'm not a doctor, but I sometimes pretend to be one on bbs's. We don't need to bash chuck434 - time will tell. If Landry has re-torn his ACL, it will be discovered and chuch434 will have been right. If not... ....THEN we can bash him.
You may very well be who you say you are. And regardless of whether you are or not, you may very well be 100% correct in all the things you've said in your post above. But because you've made such slanderous statements--and in an Internet forum no less--I've completely dismissed everything you've said. Due to a complete lack of respect for you.
He's a rookie with 6 posts. If he made a guess and is right, he can brag about it for years. If he made a guess and is wrong, he figures everyone will forget it. Be sure to underline guess, because that's what I think it was.
Didn't Yao get three screws in his foot for the navicular stress fracture? Originally it was supposed to be two, but when they got in there they judged that his foot was so large that they needed one more screw. Anyone confirm?
My apologies if you are for real; BUT you should understand that the information you are presenting invites a great deal of scrutiny, to say the least. If I were forced to bet on it, I would say that you are absolutely full of BS. • Your post does not carry the tone of a professional • Your post is FULL of grammatical errors • Your post is full of spelling errors — PARTICULARLY the term ORTHOPEDIC, which is your supposed specialty Landry may indeed be done for the season, but that would not vindicate anything you say here unless you are truly in the know, which I seriously doubt. If you are full of BS, you should be banned from this board.
Yes,that is referred to an anterior drawer sign, when the knee swings out forwards after an ACL injury.
I like the way you said it. One thing I do know, real doc with credits dont say things like that without even seeing where Landry is at.
I know for a FACT, chuck434's real initials are not MS. He's just pretended to be his boss.
I agree with you most of your points, but Orthopaedic is a legitimate alternate spelling of Orthopedic. "Orthopedics" is more widely used in America while "Orthopaedics" is more common in England. Both are common in Canada.
Whomever said that they are being really cautious because Landry is on a one year contract may be on to something......his agent has to be saying....if you feel any pain...sit..... I mean that is what I would tell him.......he has to protect his career opportunities. DD
