I watched Landry work out with a trainer/ass't coach for at least 15 minutes before the game. He moved freely and easily, but made no explosive moves. It's hard to tell how hard he was working, but my best guess would be he is still a game or two away.

landry could have been the x factor in the boston game. the way they were trapping tmac so hard, landry's got the hands and the explosiveness to make defenses pay for doing that.

Blinebury used it in one of his blogs, and he got it from an emailer (perhaps a BBSer).

Caught Fran's comment regarding Carl's situation:

"For those of you who only read your own posts....Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it's an egostistical, I'm-the-only-one-that-counts era.....as I said in an earlier answer, Carl Landry is out of the lineup again tonight. They keep working him out and the next day, he keeps getting fluid buildup on the right knee. They're hoping maybe the weekend. But it's looking more and more like maybe they're gonna have to go in there and find out what's really wrong." 03/19/2008 9:10 p.m
    Doesn't sound too good. :(

We NEED Landry. He brings so much to this team. Just him getting onto the court ignites a fire. We need him to be out there.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if he could have gone tonight and they intentionally kept him out. Maybe partly for his injury, but maybe partly because if the streak is going to get broken, Boston is the team to do it... non conference opponent, best team in the league. I'm not at all upset with this loss. I think the streak was wearing on the players, particularly Rafer and TMac. Now the bubble has burst and everyone can take a deep breath and go back to playing relaxed ball. This team proved they could win in extraordinary circumstances and that will stand them in good stead during the playoffs.

I had similar thoughts, we will know by tomorrow night, if Landry plays.

If Landry gets his knee scoped, does that automatically put him out of action for a while?

Drain the fluid and throw him out there. Or sign Hakeem to backup Mutombo.

If Landy is not well enough to go out there and play, he needs to not be out on the court playing around with kids at these charity functions. That pissed me off. We really needed him and he's out there swatting shots away from 8 year olds. WTF. If he's not well enough to go out there and earn his money, he needs to be spending every single moment either rehabbing or resting.

Problem with landry is that he plays above the rim.

With his history of knee injuries and the pressure all that high flying adds to the knee joints, this does not bode too well for his future.

Landry needs to recover soon because the Rockets need some higher energy off the bench

they say the team would keep working him out and the next day his knee would have new swellings. not sound too good right now. may take longer than we thought.

This is starting to remind me of Domanick Davis/Williams.

I've heard Hakeem's been playing pick up games over at Lifetime Fitness. Supposedly, he can still knock down his shots, still has good quickness, and still has good timing on his blocks.

If Landry has something more serious wrong with his knee, then you have to REALLY think about retooling that Rockets medical staff. They've been working him out for a while with the same result. Yet, they don't feel the need to "really" look into the injury. Varsity Blues anyone?
