Since we have proof *this year* on our *own team* that a bruised knee can keep players out longer than the common perception, I don't think it's time to panic.
Exactly. I prefer players who the medical staff doesn't trust - aka they lie about being 100% so they can get on the court faster. That said, I love Landry.
question for yah ... got a young player with a knee swelling issue, do yah ... a.) rush him back asap, to hell with the future repercussions. b.) tell the world its over for this player. c.) ensure the health issues patiently. d.) bow before the almighty altar of the STREAK e.) web MDs. no real credentials, lotsa opinions. are they worth an ear?
oh my not looking good. this thing is probably just as serious as tmac's and tmac had to sit out 11 games. he probably won't be back until the end of the month then. wassup w/ these damn injuries man. seems minor, but is serious.
So he's probably out for at least this road trip. Swell. If I hear another person rant on how "lucky" the Rockets are to be facing teams with injuries, I'll blow a gasket.
******* it, are you serious? What the hell is up with this? How many injuries are we gonna have to go through this year where we are put on a roller coaster ride? First, it was T-Mac and his knee....then it was Yao and his foot.....and now it's Landry and his knee. This is ri-freakin-diculous. Are these injuries really that hard to diagnose, or is our medical staff just THAT incompetent?
some sort of link or something? everything was looking good for him to play tonight. what tells you otherwise? thanks
The Pacers game in which he allegedly bruised the knee was 13 days ago. And in this time, either no definitive cause of the re-occurring swelling has been diagnosed or the front office knows but has not disclosed the actual injury to the public. Either case is unacceptable. Meanwhile Landry himself has NOT shown any enthusiasm for getting back on the court soon. All he has indicated is that he will not return until he is completely 100%. I guess if he is only able to get back to 99 44/100ths in this lifetime then he will just hang up his jersey and retire.
but it looks like that question was posted at 3:12 pm?? aren't whispers of him playing coming out only within the past couple of hours?
I briefly caught Matt Bullard doing a segment with ESPNEWS' Linda Cohn, and he pretty much brought up every single excuse in the book for the Celtics, without even a hint of Yao's or Landry's injuries. Seriously, he was worse than even some of the national pundits than many here have so bitterly complained about. I wanted to throw the remote at the knucklehead, it almost seemed as if he was pandering to ESPN and the national audience, just trying to add legitimacy to the running narrative about the 'built-in' excuses for why the Celtics might lose the game. With friends like these...
Didn't McGrady have the same or similar injury earlier this season? We saw what happened when they tried to get him back on the floor too soon... And he didn't have any prior history with his knee. I doubt that Rockets management would be able to hide a more serious problem from us for this long (and how could they really?). If this is anything like Mac's injury, 13 days is nothing extraordinary. I also speculated earlier in this thread that they might be holding him out until towards the end of this rough stretch of 4-games-in-5-nights (three on the road), because maybe that would be too rough on his knee. I'm done speculating, though. He'll get back when he gets back.
this is obviously a concern. hopefully it wont be a recurring thing. all we can do now is wait till hes 100%. we need him to be healthy for the playoffs. he could very well be our 2nd best player.
