Too lazy to pull the Chronicle article ... (not sure it has been posted either) but ... Landry had an extended workout earlier today - went through the light workout with the team and then stayed back an extra couple of hours to do more extensive working out. I think the odds that he's back on Tuesday are looking fairly good.
I was sad he didn't play today (sad before the game that is when I saw him walking around in a suit), I hope he gets back ASAP.
We'll see. I think the Rockets wanted to work him hard to test how his knee reacts tomorrow. If there's still swelling, he may miss the Celtics game. Man, we can sure use him for the upcoming games. The Rockets have gone through horrid offensive stretches in each of the last 3 games. We have virtually no interior athleticism or scoring without him.
I feel that he has some structural injury which might require surgery. I hope I'm wrong. We need him desperately.
I should expressed myself better, I'm worried that Landry might have a minor structural injury since he has been out for 5 games and might miss more of them. I have no evidence that he has one.
I agree with your observation. It's no coincidence the Rockets have played some ugly basketball without Landry. His scoring in the middle opens the floor as well as inspires the team. The Rockets are fortunate to find Harris who is a poor man's Landry but not nearly the finisher.
He should be okay.........no structual damage/surgery as revealed by the Rockets physicians.... As a matter of fact, he also appeared in the pre-game shoot-around in the game with LA Lakers. He also joined the team practice in March 15 morning, and a training clinic specially put up for him in the afternoon to test out his knee. The sitting out of the past 4 to 5 games, IMHO, are precautionary to prevent/protect his knee from further aggravation.
thanks pryuen...I dont know why...but I always feel safer and better after you post pictures of an injured rocket working his way back
I notice one thing between Carl Landry and Mike Harris's dunk. Landry is much quicker when it comes to rising up and dunk...on the other hand, Mike Harris...it looks like he's doing a slow-mo every time he rise up and dunk...that's why he got blocked today!! So i think there is a HUGE difference between him and Landry because it can mean an easy 2 or getting block.
Its the crazy explosive moves that makes his game so good. That is why he seems to jumpo before anyone can even react.
Dont compare Harris with Landry. Harris was not even in the league a couple of weeks ago. He's been a pleasant surprise. The Rockets are a different team with Carl. His ability to attack the basket really opens up the perimeter shooting for our guards. If the Rockets want to advance in the playoffs, they need Carl Landry back and healthy.
Harris was going slow-mo for his dunks and at times he would just toss it up off the backboard. If Landry had been in the game, he would have stuffed it on Odom.
