I'm cool if Landry does not play. Give him all the time he needs.

I want him healthy for the playoffs.

Adelman said something about him needing to test it out more, run the soreness out of it or something like that, and seemed pretty clear that Landry wouldn't play v the Lakers.

I'm worrying more and more that this is another botched job by the Rockets medical staff. I am not familiar with a guy missing so much time without a structural problem being acknowledged.

A guy's knee does not swell up for no reason

How can the swelling last this long? I'm sure they're doing everything they can to stop it, so how can it still be swollen? I freaking hope that it's not the start of a chronic knee problem. It would be typical Rockets luck, though.

Hopefully its a ploy so the Lakers wont be prepared to guard Landry? I was really looking forward to seeing Landry back and kickin ass against the Fakers. :(

I just looked at Chronicle...and it says Landry not expected to play. I hope it's a ploy too. Man i miss that guy. I miss Yao too, but he aint coming back any time soon.

    NOw its on NBA.com, damn

"Of course, Houston has been playing without Yao Ming, sidelined with a stress fracture in his left foot on Feb. 26. That hasn't mattered yet - the Rockets have won nine straight games without him. Houston has also won its last four games without rookie forward Carl Landry, who provided valuable scoring and rebounding when Yao first got hurt. Landry has a bruised right knee and won't play Sunday, either. "

Its for real I guess, damn. Rockets - Yao = Lakers - Pau

But with Landry out TOO I'm kind of worried.

Chron hasn't wrote anything like that yet so let's hope there is still a chance. We hell really need Landry, not only today.

Texas Stoke, I agree. But in all fairness, the boy doesn't get a chance to. Last game he was in for a few minutes and only took one shot, then got taken out.

Let the boy shoot, RA! We all know he can.

Steve "Sure Shot" Novak for the win!

    YES!

I'd rather see Novak canning threes than see that goofy ass backboard slap by Mike Harris. Mike Harris, you aint no Carl Landry!

Haha, of course he's not. No one can replace Landry!

I'm just saying, if shots aren't falling, like you said, I'd rather them try to get some shots for Novak. He's going to make them.

We live in a city with one of the greatest collection of hospitals and physicians located within the Texas Medical Center, a world famous complex that brings in families from all over the nation, and perhaps even internationally, to receive treatment for a wide variety of ailments. You mean to tell me that whatever condition Landry is suffering from has gone undiagnosed for over a week and has not been given any kind of realistic long-term timetable, as if everyone in the city (and Alabama) is baffled by it?? The team seems to put all their hope on how much swelling builds up after an intense practice session to gauge when Carl can rejoin the team. Seriously? This is the expert medical opinion of the team's medical staff --> Let's push his knee to a strong, hard practice session and see how much damage we've done.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but I think either one of two is correct. Either the team's medical staff has really dropped the ball on this one or (the more likely option IMO) they know exactly what's wrong and have a likely timetable for his return but are withholding this information. Why...I'm not sure. Maybe so they don't spook off future ticket and merchandise sales that will accrue if they consistently keep offering the little hope of Landry's return. I know it seems like a stretch but most of this post is out of frustration from the lack of a better prognosis and a date of when he will return.... :(
