If you Google part of the phrase, it's attributed to a guy who isn't on that page. Or at least not under that name.

I saw somebody posted it on another forum (where I got the idea for the thread) so I just copied and pasted it. Not sure if they found it there or somewhere else.

Really? It certainly doesn't when you consider the "repeat offender" rate.

No system is perfect. As a Christian, I'm not sure if I were on a jury I'd be able to sentence someone to death.

But thanks to DNA testing, I've got no problem with the death penalty for certain acts.

Anyone else find it strange that the Race of Victim is indicated? Is every crime left open to be interpretted as a possible race-related hate crime?

All I'll say is this. If me or my family are brutally murdered, I definitely want the person or persons who killed us to get the death penalty, preferably old sparky.

Yeah everyone's sorry when they've been caught and have to deal with the punishment they know would've happened if they were caught.

    "But...but...I'm REALLY sorry now...shouldn't I get off?"

People are really civilized and eloquent when they are about to die aren't they?

Seriously I'm 'kind of' on the fence about the DP, but when I think about these POS scum doing these things to my family I think of just one thing...it's better the state kills them instead of me killing them.

Murder is wrong no matter who commits whether it be an individual or state.

i'm like the other poster that thought they sounded sorry....until i read what they did.

No remorse. they deserve what they did to their victims.

It's not about sounding sorry or what they did, its about a flawed system that has killed and will kill more innocent people.

I'd rather abolish the DP than have the state execute one more innocent man again.

fancy myself a Christian? ....what exactly are you trying to say/ask?

    As for being religious....no.

As for the death penalty, with better technology to prove the innocence or guilt of a defendant I believe more and more the the judicial system.

These people admit their wrong doings, and are asking for a 2nd chance.....what about the victims?

Anyways......since this is in the Hangout, I'm going to stop there. Everyone has their own opinions, and I respect that. Mine is pro-death penalty.

Sorry, religion should have nothing to do with the judicial system unless you are willing to claim our country is a Christian State...
