You cant simulate game speed during shoot around. And game speed/adrenaline is what loosens it up. I mean if it was just nominal activity that loosened it up he wouldn't have an issue. I believe that when he goes he has to play thru the pain for a while before the adrenaline takes over and you kinda forget about it. I'm not a doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I'm just throwing ideas out there, that all seem to be reasonable.

I do know that he winces more in the first quarter than the 4th quarter.

He's actually terrible at finishing. I posted a list last year of Tracy vs. about 30 other top penetrators (save the p*rn jokes) and he was ahead of only Paul Pierce (I think) and Brandon Roy (a rookie at the time). If he were better around the basket, I could more easily forgive his underwhelming jumpshot %. Having all the athleticism in the world doesn't help him if he can't score once he's open or once he makes it to the rim.

I mean, if your superstar is going to suck from one spot on the floor, he better excel from another, which Tracy does not. On top of that, his free throws have gone to hell too.

Yeah, his Jumpers arent that much off form other swing men in the league. Where his FG% goes downhill is around the rim. I think he is not that great of a finisher, and add that to rarely getting the calls when he does get fouled, it makes his overall percentage go down.

This team does not depend on his jumper, it actually depends on everyone else being able to make buckets. Mac distributes a LOT in the beginning of games and throughout. He begins to take more shots towards the ends of games typically. His inability to hit shots has rarely been the reason we lost.

But I know how it is...when we lose, blame one guy, rather than the team. It's whatever. Bi-polar fans. We are the greatest when we win, and we are the worst when we lose.

Sounds to me like we should sign Gerald Green up once more before we hit the playoffs. I mean, he's got all three of those qualities right?

t-mac can't shoot jumpers, layups, or free throws.

it's simply why t-mac's lost his jumper. it's because he's lost his elevation. before he could elevate over anyone and line drive his shot in, practically shooting down at the basket. now he's lost the elevation so naturally his line drives have a much lower percentage of going in. its simply physics. the free throws on the other hand is just a lack of concentration.

 Who said Mcgrady needs to average 50% for the damn season???
Look, every nba player out of 17 games should occasionally become lucky and just happen to shoot above 50% a few times during a large span of games.... Even Jamal freakin Crawford who shoots an abysmal 40% for the season scored at 50% or above in 4 of his last 16 games..... and that is for someone who is THAT BAD and that INEFFICIENT at shooting.... Now Mcgrady..... he hasnt had a really good shooting night for over a damn month now..... its not much of a task to ask for.... Have one damn good shooting night for god sakes!!!

ive supported TMAC every time, no matter how bad he did but what happened last night was inexcusable, im tired of making excuses for the guy hes always getting injured and he played with no heart last night. We need a leader, this is the TMAC im talking about which everyone on his team knows they can look to when they need a win:

LOOK AT HIS ELEVATION THEN AND COMPARE IT TO NOW...HE NEEDS TO GET THAT BACK

This is true. Try going out to play all out at the playground or something with an injury after just a shootaround. Even with a more "intense" warm-up the injury will still seem to only have loosened up to an extent; especially with a shoulder injury. Adrenaline is a major factor. You would think that with the medical staff that a professional organization has however, that they could work around this somehow..

One of them has consistently performed at a higher level in the playoffs than the other two. Across the board he completely demolishes them statistically.

Hint: It isn't Carter or Pierce

He's never imposed his will on a season? Look at last year...

His first year in Houston he was far and away the most impressive player on this team (regular season and the playoffs). He's still recovering from injuries... i'll give him until next year before I call it quits on him.

Quitting on McGrady now would be the equivalent of TDot quitting on VC. It'll come back to bite this team in the ass.

No one is quitting on him just asking him to bring it every night.....is that too much to ask for 20 million a year?

He does bring it every night...unfortunately with all his knick-knack injuries this year his shooting % is not their every night. But, his rebounding, passing and clutch play has been very consitently good this year.
