In close games when we definitely need a 3, I trust JJ on the receiving end of a Yao kickout instead of Head. And I feel that Yao and TMac will have better chemistry with JJ than with Head.

in the situation you describe, i would trust uconn's rashad anderson more than redick and he isn't overrated so he should be available with the knicks pick.

The problem with Roy is, which NBA position could he play? If the 2, he would be at a talent and quickness disadvantage against most teams. If the 3, he would be undersized, and even if he weren't, he would have to take the one or two years I mentioned to bulk up. His only real strength (relative to other NBA players) is his IQ, and I doubt that would be enough.

Of course, Redick would be at an even greater quickness disadvantage on defence. But at least he would make up for it by shooting lights out. He is peculiarly well suited to our offence.

On most other teams, you would be right: Roy is a much better player. But on the Rockets, I think Redick would contribute more, and do it more immediately too.

In close games when we definitely need a defensive stop, I don't want JJ anywhere near the court.

Actually, I might want JJ in there even in crunch time. His 3s would likely outweigh whatever he gives up to the opposing SG. If we had two major 3pt threats (T-Mac and JJ), plus the inside scoring of Yao, the other team would have a nervous breakdown on defence.
