Not to dampen the party, but they were playing without Karl Malone, Devan George, and Rick Fox is just starting to return and a team without chemistry seeing how Kobe is there one day and not the next. Further, we were playing at home. We were fresh (and have had no major injuries this year) and they had come off a back to back if I remember (loss to Atlanta no less.) There was a big positive, and that was Yao. No question there is a good chance we have one of the top 3 or top 5 players in the league for a long time. Few teams can say that. But it also showed in spades the rest of the Rockets are just overmatched. He have done fairly poor job of getting talent around Yao and what considerable talent there is (namely SF) does not seem to be able to take advantage of the big guy's presence.
Oops, my typo. I meant Cat had a poor shooting night, certainly not Cato. Anyway, I still feel freaking sick that the Rockets is the only team that wants and can take advantage at the center position against the Lakers! Who would have thought that when we drafted Ming two years ago? Certainly not so fast even by die hard YOFs! Certainly not Bill Walton! And talk about our 4. Cato/Mo combo should have schooled their 4s, but actually got outplayed by them.
That play was ugly. Usually it was a typical SF shooting. I think Yao shaked his head and complained a little bit on that shot. Why did not they play M.Jackson? He had 4 rbs and 4 assists in 5 min?
