When that midget starting giving me acid flash backs, she had my wife and me rolling on the floor crying. Did anybody get a copy of that because that shiit was FUNNY
Anybody watching the New York round right now? Colin Quin got his ass handed to him by this black comic named Alonzo something, I think. Anyways, he did a bit about being a bachelor shopping for the first time at Bed Bath and Beyond and feeling like you are getting ripped off. Anyways, Colin asks him after his bit if he ever opens with that at all black comedy clubs and he answers him, "black people use sheets too Colin." He then basically says he's not trying to be a (label) comic, he's just trying to be a good comic. My boy Pablo Francisco was the third guy up, but I don't think his set was too strong.
I thought Pablo was funny. I liked the politcal comedian Will Durst the best so far. That Rainman bit about Bush was hilarious.
Jim Norton was the funniest of the first group. " Do you have one of the deformed escorts for $50 dollars you know I don't want to get married " bit was funny as hell
Man, there were some bad picks in that first 10. I wish I knew remembered their names. Definately the big lady with the red shirt and that middle aged looking chick were bad picks. I think there were people better than Ant. Jim Norton was good, but I've disliked the guy since the time I saw him on this MTV show about fugly rockers. He was making fun of people based on looks and though it's not something that bothers me, coming from a guy who looks like Michael Stipe if he ever started eating, it just didn't seem right.
i wish vladamir and the guy with the two usa flags on his shirt made it. they were good. that lady who intro'd with the high pitch voice was my least favorite of all 40...and she made the cut.
I was kind of hoping the stripper would make the cut - how could you pass up on having a stripper in the house for good TV?
Maybe the two gay guys running the show. Or does the audience vote at this stage (I missed last nights show)?
She did not make monday's cut for some reason. Last night they let through some of the un funny comics
bump Just watched tonight's episode...this time 'round, the talent seems really good. I didn't think the gay guy was that funny...I would have replaced him with the Iranian Jew or the older fella. Even the loud and obnoxious lady was funnier, but oh well. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode. If the other guys are as funny as these were overall, Pablo Francisco might be in trouble...
I was dissapointed that Dan Ahdoot didnt make it or the old guy either. I thought they were the better than some of the female selections. I thought Gary Gulman was the best overall, and was a good selection.
didn't get a chance to watch it but read an article not too long ago. In it Drew Carey basically said the producers of the show overrode the judges and picked someone who fit their vision to advance over who the judges wanted. Drew said he regrets participating in the show and wouldn't do so again.
I bet he was talking about Ant over the old guy. The old guy was the only one who brought the house down and had a standing O, but he wouldn't have fit in the house.
