Just got back from a 3-day trip on Friday. We're in the Wynn on Thursday night and I look over to my right and see Kevin Durant walking around. Figured he was just in town hanging out or something. Then, as I walk over to the Cashier's cage, I end up standing in line behind Andre Iguodala. As I'm waiting I glance behind me and see freaking Dominique Wilkins walk by. As we're leaving I see David Lee at one of the tables playing blackjack. Then it dawned on me they must've been in town for the USA basketball team practices or something.
I am in Las Vegas right now staying at the Venetian and loving it. Lebron was in the casino last night getting heckled about Kobe Bryant.
They're all ripoffs in the sense that what they sell you is equivalent to the free passes you're getting handed on the street. Contact an independent promoter to set you up with a club.
Unfortunately, no. We thought we were going to be in those rooms, but they decided to keep us in the slums on the 17th floor...
I've got to plan a trip to Vegas since everybody I know has went. I really want to do the rides on the Stratosphere because nobody I know who has gone has done them.
I'm planning a surprise 30th birthday trip for my hubby so I'm taking him to Vegas along with two couples. The girls and I are trying to figure out where to stay...We're going on the 4th of July weekend so the prices are a bit higher but we really want to stay at a hotel that is nice and reasonable priced. Thank goodness that I read this no staying at circus circus! Expedia has a sale for that hotel lol. There are so many hotels and it is hard to pick. Thanks to this thread, I know what night spots to hit. It's just tough picking a hotel. So are you saying that we have to spend $$$ for the hotel or we won't get the full experience of Vegas? It's our first time going there.
I've booked through this site - http://www.bestofvegas.com The deals seem pretty good. You should stay on the strip since it's your first time going. I know that i'm staying on the city centre complex the next time i visit. Probably Aria but a brand new hotel called Cosmopolitan just opened in city centre. Try to stay at a 4 star hotel. Just realized that Aria is a 5 star hotel. My brother booked through Continental's site earlier this month. It came down to $1000 for 2 people for the flight and a 3 day stay at Aria (thurs-sun). It was a vacation package deal.
My first trip to Vegas was earlier this month. We stayed at the Monte Carlo and just walked everywhere. The Monte Carlo has a food court like you would find in a mall (McD, Pizza place, Starbucks, Subway) so that was a good portion of the food options for us. And a hangover breakfast at Denny's was across the street. Mandalay Bay and MGM are nice too. I don't remember being at the Bellagio, New York or Paris that much but we have pictures of us there!
The last time I went to Vegas, the Monte Carlo had just had it's grand opening the week prior...I think I was 12.
thanks guys...i think we want to stay on the strip. friends said it would be best if we stayed in the middle of strip. We've looked at Luxor and Hard Rock. Both of them look great but HR is not directly on the strip.
spearmint rhino was AMAZING. you are sure to have a blast if you stop there. the place is CRAWLING with porno-hot poons! if you're into that kind of thing...
Luxor is at the end of the south strip so expect to do some walking. I stayed there my first visit and thought it was pretty good. I was a college kid on a budget and all I did was gamble. I'm actually going at the end of January and staying at the Vdara. Now that I have a nice job I'm going to do things right this time around!
I was in Vegas for the 4th of july last year, I stayed at the Aria, it was great. Yes, you do have to stay at nice hotel. the prices are reasonable if you book this early lol. Try the Mirage, I think it's got a great location and the you get a decent room for the price.
There is a free tram that runs between Monte Carlo, City Center (Aria, CC shopping) and Bellagio. If you stay at one of those places, you can use it to move around a little easier (and cooler in July). In July, expect mind-numbing heat.
