The point is that most activities one may want to do can almost always be done near other locations. From Houston, you can easily get to Galveston beach or Freeport, but a better beach is in Destin or Hawaii or Florida. I can ski near my house in Minnesota, but there is much better skiing in Colorado or Utah. I can watch a movie on my TV, but it is a much better experience going to a theatre. Casinos in Louisiana are nothing like those in Las Vegas. We have a great casino in Minnesota about 30 minutes from my house, but there are no table games other than black jack. We have some table games at the horse race track, but nothing compared to Las Vegas.
In person is much more fun. You can control certain things (ie in dice you can hold the die a certain way and throw in, whereas, online you just press a button and see it roll on the screen)
yes, plus you get cool random people playing with you in Vegas. I remember the late Philip Seymour Hoffman at the Hard Rock once playing dice at my table. way before he was super famous.
nice! i want to check out Atlantis. I don't know if that's in the Bahamas or not. I just hear keyword "Atlantis" a lot.
I remember one time being there same time as AVN and some p*rn star came to the table in a bikini and was throwing for 30 min at $25 pass line. It was interesting to say the least. HA HA Phillip S. Hoffman is way better. One time I got lucky and our table at XS was right next to Paris Hilton's table. That was interesting.. ha ha
What's the best hotel to stay at on the strip? Going with a few buddies (we are in our early 20s) for 3 nights and we are thinking about The Cosmopolitan. Any recommendations?
Good call. that place was bumping with 21-28 yr olds when I walked over from Aria to hit some bars felt like a college scene
For a few guys in their 20's, stay at the following (ordered by price): Cosmopolitan Caesar's Palace Aria MGM Grand Mandalay/Delano (during events) Planet Hollywood Hard Rock (on the weekends) Monte Carlo Flamingo The Quad
Thanks for the suggestions guys! So the Caesar's Palace Augustus Tower Luxury room (650 sqft) is going to cost the same as the City Room at The Cosmopolitan (460 sqft). So, is it better to stay at the Cosmopolitan even though it will be a smaller room for the same price?
Both places are great. You're not going to be spending much time in your room anyways. It's just for sleep and sex. What are you looking to do?
bleh on Caesars. It's kind of an older hotel. I think you'd enjoy Cosmopolitan more. The chandelier bar alone in the lobby of the hotel is legit for a bar to congregate at. Marquee..all the food places..proximity to Bellagio, Bottom line, cosmopolitan is more hip and young than Caesars in my opinion.
First time going, we'll be gambling, want to check out some shows and the old Las Vegas. We want to see Criss Angel for sure. We're going the weekend before Thanksgiving. That's what I was thinking about with Caesar's Palace as well. Looks like we are definitely going to go with Cosmopolitan. Are there any must do things? Thanks for the input guys!
hey buddy hit me up at my email address below and i'll give you some contacts and stuff to do. between 2007-2010, I went 15 times. The past three years I've been 8 times. I've got a pretty good handle on what's good what nights, restaurants, gaming etc.
Went for the first time in January this year, already been around 10 times this year. So much to do in Vegas. Absolutely love the city!
So I am not sure if my friend is super paranoid or not, or if he booked this before he knew I was coming for sure or not. But I am a pretty big, intimidating guy (according to some people on this board). My friend said he really wanted an escort, which to me, doesnt make sense if we are all rolling together (like 5-6 people). Who in their right minds would mess with us? and do you really need to drop $2-300 on a police officer to follow us around all night? Not sure if Vegas has gotten bad over the last year or not. Any input?
