    Yuck.

Hard to watch...3rd game in 3 days...figured this would happen they are playing their first game.

    So:

Hill - still looks pretty bad, can't hold his ground and his balance sucks when posting up.

JT - Horrible, simply atrocious, looked like a guy with his head down and nowhere else to go, 7 turnovers.....unless he can pass his career will be really short.

CBud- 21 points, but such an unimpactual 21 points, he drove some, but got no calls, and his passes were not crisp, average at best.

pat Pat - Dissappeared out there, couldn't hold his ground and showed nothing really.

Ish - fast, but can't shoot jumpers..means we are playing 4 on 5 unless we are breaking..

Just a terrible performance, but in all honesty, I think they were gassed.

    DD

3 games in 3 nights have a way of showing up eventually in game performance. Morey was interviewed by Brent Barry during the 4 qtr. was asked if Yao will be playing for the Chinese national team? Morey stated that it was up to Yao but they were not telling not to.

This is what i'm most afraid of. If Yao does I feel this will end the same way it always does...

Its Summer League filled with ball hog guards who wont pass to the post to save their lives so they can score. On another note note John Wall is playing and he hasnt started off too good either right now.

he doesn't have the quickness, lateral speed, or 1st step to get separation against his man. he can finish at the rim but doesn't finish through contact as well as JT. don't see him as much of a 1 on 1 player.

    embarrassing effort.

That smith kid, the point guard, couldn't guard a chair if he tried, got beat time after time after time ago. Then again, that can be said for just about every rockets player today.

Very concerned with Hill, terrible game, again.

Summer League to me looks completely different to the NBA. I feel like the baskets are always clogged in summer league

Video of Morey's comments (which I think were fairly justified... effort was very low)

"I'm not sure you can call it basketball to this point."

"We pride ourselves on being tougher and harder working, and this group is embarrassing right now. I mean it's really... I haven't seen us play this bad at any level for a long time."

True, it's not easy for players who play significant minutes in 3 consecutive games for 3 days/nights to bring the full intensity on the 3rd day vs the Trailblazers who played their first SL game. However, these guys are still young relative to the average NBA age and most of them have of a lot to prove...

I am surprised Morey is so hard on them. The guys probably had 3 hard practices plus 2 games before this game in a little more than 48 hours.

Doesn't he get they are wiped out and playing a team with fresh legs! That's what number crunching and never coaching will get you. I just saw a group of tired players. Thier fg percentage was an exact reflection of that. JT lost his bounce, Budinger his explosion and Patterson his confidence. Hill actually looked better defensively but they all looked tired. And even with all that they still one the 4th quarter against one of the better summer league teams.

I'll be excited to see how they play wednesday and the game after that. I expect a return to dominance. But mostly what I am hoping for is Hill to improve. I am not worried about the rest.

I think he was talkinga bout the effort level more than anything else. you may be tired or lacking form, but effort is something you can always maintain at a "rockets" level

effort and execution... there are four guys on that team who have been here before... and know the system.

There's no reason for the "chicken with it's head cut off" play to be utilized by JT so many times in one game.

I think Jordan Hill has the physical tools to be great. If anyone should work with Dream, it's him. BUT... His most annoying tendency is his lack of aggressiveness. He almost always has to dribble once (high TO risk) before he can go up with it. When he goes up with it, he's going away from the contact, and basket. So he's doing the complete opposite of what he should be doing in the low block. He should catch the ball with two hands, pivot, and quickly, decisively, aggressively, with malice, dunk the ball and his defender. Use those elbows! On D... he wasn't even playing D today. Give him some Red Bull or something, sheesh. If he had Joakim Noah's attitude and hustle, he'd wreck the league!

On the bright side, he was playing out of position. As a four, he has a nice little mid-range J and face-up game. Hopefully he'll improve. We've seen him do better in real NBA games.
