I've got 610 on the Radio...listing to Rich make his arguement against LJ...and I think I want to shoot myself listening to him... Like Matt said...Just Win Baby. Sign Him.
The argument is he sucks, again what is the fascination, he had two good years out of seven and those were a few years ago. Dude is overrated
4.5 ypg and 900 yds in 12 games last season says otherwise. His first bad season has been this year on a piece of **** team. There is no way he is worse than Chris Brown or even Ryan moats.
Don't forget the 5 fumbles. And from my post on page 1: Say Ryan Moats had another game like the Buffalo game against Oakland and St. Louis, then went for 3 ypc (or worse) in all of his other games. That's basically what LJ did last year. Inflated stats based on a few games in which the [bad] defenses had a lead. Kind of like garbage points in the NBA.
The Chiefs have been horrible for a few years now. I don;t think anyone expects him to come in a be a starter, but he can certainly be a #2/#3 running back.
From Schefter's twitter and I might add his guess are better then some people's so called acurate information. Adam_Schefter My Larry Johnson landing-spot guesses: Houston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh. And I emphasize - guesses, not fact.
Canadian Press says Pitt doesn't seem interested... http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianpress/article/ALeqM5jRnJPTGqxC5d63w6tBvlq8OoiZ2A
Cross the Texans off list. No Larry Johnson for the Texans according the Adam Schefter's twitter. "And now we start eliminating LJ landing spots: No more Houston - Gary Kubiak's team sticking with its backs." http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter
No real fascination...I just don't see how it could hurt to give him a shot. He either helps our running game or does nothing at all leaving us with what we already had with Slayton, Moats, and Brown. The only way I see him hurting this team is if he comes in, beats on Shaub and breaks his arm.
Reading Kubiak's post practice quotes from today, I think they will pickup a running back. If not Larry Johnson, Chris Henry and Arian Foster could be brought up from practice squad and they could finally cut Chris Brown who stinks. I had high hopes for him after the preseason but he hasn't done nothing.
I'm glad no LJ, let him go be a d-bag somewhere else. The Texans definitely need to get someone other than Chris Brown though, the guy just doesn't impress me.
Not signing LJ will end up costing Kubes his job. more fumbles, more getting stuffed at the 1 yard line, more of the same old tired good guy crap!
Since it was Kubiak's decision. Go root for the Raiders or Cowboys if you're tired of the "same old good guy crap". What a joke. That would be a first- a head coach getting fired because he didn't "sign" a 2.7 ypc back that hasn't played well in 3 years. I don't know why I'm even responding anymore. The idiocy in this thread is unbearable.
Jason La Canfora insider for NFL Network is still, this time via twitter, reporting Houston is the favorite and front runner! Conflicting stories from 2 key NFL insiders. Lets see who's right!?!?
lj is still a franchise back and he is way better than moats....haha moats slaton and lj will be a good change of pace the texans need a proven back if we plan on being contenders in the playoffs matt is good but we need to run the ball and lj can run backs like him run all over our defense texans have always had bad backs datting back to james allen wow he was a scrub slaton is having a slump he will get backl on track but i dont believ chris brown or moats are the answer
for one, everyone knows Kubiak gets the players he wants because Smith is just a puppet. two: You just named two franchises that have accomplished DYNASTIES in the NFL. They took risks and some risks payed off with CHAMPIONSHIPS not 8-8 seasons. sorry but I want WINNERS not Choir boys, I'm sure most here will agree with me.
Usually 30 is the barometer for just about any player to decline, especially in football, even QBs. But, they are players who buck the trend and had some of their best seasons 30 and beyond. Especially, if a RB can play behind a decent line or a team with other weapons. Walter Payton Curtis Martin Tiki Barber Warwick Dunn
Thank you Mike Singletary but yes I agree. If you think Johnson can help this team or is better than what you have, you sign him if you can. Hey, the last KC guy we piced up wasnt so bad afterall
