Last time I checked, Ryan Moats/Steve Slaton were 1/2 on the Depth Chart. You're talking about adding marginal 3rd string depth like its going to help this team win more games?
Moats fumbling inside the 3 yard line wasn't much better. We have been losing games because of our RB situation. No matter what you think of his off the field situations, he is an upgrade over Moats and Chris Brown, we need a guy that will push it in and not fumble on the goal line, Twice costing us those games more or less...
Moats fumbles once so you're ready to throw him under the bus for a guy who hasn't done **** for like 2 seasons but rush for 3 yards and fall down, and cough up the rock?
We need an upgrade thats evident. So I dont see why not.. LJ is that upgrade and gay slurs and alleged allagations should have nothing to do with that.
The dude would be a goalline upgrade for sure so why not BUT saying that the moment he looks at a female with the evil eye CUT HIM!
I'd rather bring Foster or Chris Henry from the Practice Squad then gamble on Larry Johnson. He has only had 2 out 5 good seasons and you can put the blame on his offensive line but frankly I still wouldn't try it.
He's got to have something left in the tank -- it was only 2006 when he put up 2200 yards from scrimmage, but I guess he is right on that 30 year old RB curse. He got a late start behind Priest, but maybe he did lose a step after that monster year that most definitely overworked him.
I think LJ can still be solid on a team with solid run blocking. So I guess that strikes us out, right?
I remember when Randy Moss was turning 30 people were saying he's done he's a cancer than he goes and sign with the Pats. The rest is history. I'm not saying LJ will do a turn around like Moss but I do think he can still be a good back playing on a team where he wants to play. I think the Texans should pick him up and if they see one little sign of trouble cut him the same day its that easy.
Not following your logic here at all. If Addai had taken 14 hand offs for 119 yards you'd be talking about a gashing.
no, randy moss and his 39 TDs to welker's 15 in their 2.5 years together is what's wreaking havoc. do you honestly believe welker, without moss, would be an unstoppable offensive juggernaut? i'm not saying yards aren't vital, they certainly are. but clark came into the game averaging 12.7 yards/catch; they held him to 8.5. he was pretty effectively bottled up. you're never going to shut the colts down. the goal is to contain them. clark was contained.
I'd say if anything Wayne was contained. Clark did most of his damage on the short routes, as pointed out. The strategy was pretty effective, but would have been all for not if it weren't for a couple of curious turnovers.
i see that. if the *running back* is averaging 8.5 yards a *carry*, that's most assuredly problematic. but we're talking about the tight end catching passes. as i said in my response to major: yards are vital and clark certainly had a great day, statistically. but had he caught 14 balls at his average yardage clip prior to sunday's game (12.7/catch), he would have finished with 178 yards receiving. so the texans actually did a fairly decent job of containing him, which is often all you can do against the colts. i can't speak for the texans but i'd wager they're ok with 14 catches, 8.5 ypc and 0 TDs.
Huge difference between a 30 year old running back and a 30 year old receiver. That being said, they should defintiely give LJ a shot. He got a late start if I remember correctly sitting behind Priest.
