8 years of existence....no playoff births. This year goal-line issues have plagued us. Larry Johnson is available. Bob should make the move.

At the end of the season when we are 8-8 or 9-7 , it will be too late to second guess.

    It wont cost much anyway.

Bob are you trying to build a winning football franchise or a boys choir.
    The honeymoon is over.
Maybe if you sign Larry Johnson you will quit choking at the goal line.
    Sincerely,
    Jags, Cards, and Colts.

The Chiefs suck....it wont cost anything anyway.

    2 questions:

What do you have to lose by signing him?

What do you have to lose by NOT signing him?

when the first version of this thread was posted, about 3 weeks ago, I said no because LJ would not buy into the team concept. Plus...what were the chances of more goal line debacles?

Since then and the never ending fumbles, I've changed my mind to YES, we absolutely need him. What says christian more than giving someone another chance to fix his life? It's like when coach taylor in friday night lights gave the hispanic defensive end a chance to play football. Instead of hanging out with the eses, the kid was making crucial sacks.

Yeah, i know, he'll probably end up with the pats.
what happened to the other running backs we drafter this year? Are they healed from their injuries?

If the cancer can kill off some of that P*ssiness in the locker room I'm all for it.

Larry Johnson had 5 fumbles in 12 games last year. How does that help our never ending fumbles? And where did anyone say anything about being Christian? I don't think that's a requirement to play for the Texans- just good character.

I'm all for giving a player that has had fairly minor off the field/locker room problems a second chance if they can contribute, and we've proven we're willing to do that by offering Cedric Benson a contract. Larry Johnson does not fit that scenario. And anybody who thinks Larry Johnson is the difference between 8-8 and the playoffs is delusional and/or hasn't seen LJ play in 3 years. End of story.

it's not that cut and dry.

there is a lot more to the story than what he's done or hasn't done in the last 3 years.

personally, as a life long fan of the Chiefs, I don't want LJ on this team, but I think he can come here and make a difference....if, and this is a big ass if.....

if LJ really, really wants to contribute.

not to mention that LJ probably isn't the brightest to learn the gibbs zone blocking scheme in 2 weeks. But I'm sure LJ can still be productive in short yardage/goal line situations. A change of scenery would be good...just seven games nothing more. look what a change of scenery did for bernard pollard.

I don't think I'd even risk it for 7 games...he could end up hurting us too, whether it be chemistry or even fumble problems. The difference with Pollard is that Bernard is only 25 yrs old and was productive the last two years. He was KC's leading tackler last year. Apparently he just fell out of favor with Todd Haley.

We do seem to be making progress on the goal-line except for Moats' fumble. We finally got some push on Slaton's rushing TD yesterday. Most of the problem has been due to poor push up front and lack of creativity in playcalling.

Benard Pollard was the same player he is now when he played for KC. He didn't need a change of scenery. Todd Haley's ego needs a change of scenery.

How is his tough love approach working out on Dwayne Bowe?

And Pollard hasn't looked that great really, Vernon Davis had 3 TDs splitting his ass.
